Problems with my toshiba laptop

Hi I am looking for some help to solve the problems I am having with my Toshiba laptop.

The hardrive has recently been replaced due to a virus, but since then when I am typing something the cursor moves and suddenly my typing gets mixed with a sentence I have already created. This can be in word, hotmail or any other package. The cursor can sometimes move back to where it was. This is making simple tasks ages to do as I am constantly having to correct my work, by cuttung and pasting.

Also when using hotmail to send my emails the function to spellcheck has disappeared, I press the spellcheck button it talks about browsers and adding dictionaries but I do not know how to do this. My spelling is not the best so to have the spellcheck function back would be a godsend.

Please help:A

ok this could be a driver's issue, have you run the windows update to make sure you have got all the latest drivers windows recommends?

you could also try the toshiba website as they are likely to have a drivers package for your laptop which could be better than the ones through windows

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • I know this might sound really thick but how do you update windows? do I have to visit a website?

Make sure your thumb isn't accidentally touching the trackpad. Try reducing the sensitivity of it as well.
  • Thank you all so much for your advice so far, my laptop is a vista.

I have no idea of the model details, but It's silver if that helps lol

I am not too sure what a trackpad is or where its based, once found how do you reduce its sensitivity?:)

I have an Advent laptop and mine has done the exact same thing ever since I got it and neither myself or anybody I know can figure out why!

It really is annoying so I will be subscribing to this thread to see if a solution is found! :j
