Any C.O.D 4 Experts on PS3?Son says he knows a kid who can hack his account.Possible?

Hi all

I was going to buy my son the latest Call Of Duty (Black Ops) for his PS3 when it comes out in November. However, after being totally addicted to C.O.D 4 for months my son has suddenly gone off C.O.D now, saying....

"This kid called **** says he can hack into my account so there's no point in playing anymore. He said he's gonna put a virus on my machine and strip me of my level"

I told him I'm sure a 12 year old kid couldn't outwit Sony and do such a thing and that I doubted this kid was telling the truth. However, my son went on

"He can do it. He has a piece of software that makes him up to level 1000 etc and the same software can strip you of your level and put you back down. He can hack your C.O.D account"

When I say Level, I can't remember the exact word he used in place of Level.

Surely this is not true? Is it?

Can't really comment on PS3, but the person is talking crap, probably trying to scare your son

Max level in MW2 is only 70 then you go into prestige mode

Just ignore him, he's trying to sound hard

rubbish, use whatever line you've used in the past to convince him there isn't a bogie man under his bed / in the wardrobe / in his Playstation.

Also make sure he hasn't shared his password with anyone and change it if needs be.
  • As above the other person is talking a load of cr*p. If ur son meets him again online get him to jot down his psn name and report him (if there is such a way of doing that!) :)

    Age old argument

Legally her son shouln't be allowed to play it

Morally, if her son is mature enough to play video games and know the in game scenes are not real, and can determine right from wrong I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed

Sure is an 18 as is COD4 and MW2 and why I will not let my kids play especially not online! I play every night and the language and bullying that can and does go on towards younger players makes it very unsuitable for under 18's.

There is a reason the game is 18 rated and as an adult playing an 18 game there is nothing more frustrating than playing with young kids trying to be adults
Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

No, what's frustrating is hearing the young 12 YO kids mocking you when they kill you :o

It's a two way thing really. Block them from playing an 18+ video game because of language/violence, what's to stop them hearing or seeing it in their school ?

I agree you are restricting them on what they be exposed to but at some point they will be exposed to it.

Your children are very young I would definately have an issue myself as a parent letting them play at that age, but as they get older they mature more.

Some of the stuff said online whilst playing COD MW2 is disgusting, some of the language just cant be repeated, honestly, it would shock you beyond belief.........

    ......and that’s just me!! :rotfl:

OP, follow whats been said above, make sure he doesnt give out his password for his ID and apply the block to the other user. As far as i know as the moment you can only hack an account to rank you up.....but who knows these days.

am i the only one thinking this kid has done you a favour and saved you £40-50
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
