100 dollars an hour? Wow. I'll have to tell my BIL he's greedy so and so if he thinks academics are poorly paid. Which uni did you teach in in Sydney? What a small world if you know each other! 'll catch up with them on skype later this week and ask him his exact wage but it's nowhere near what you earnt.

Aaaah, you're forgetting, dear. You can earn as much as you want on an internet forum - and be whatever you want too!;)

Generali is one of the most respected - if not THE most respected - poster on here. That you are implying he is lying about his ability to generate A$100 an hour says more about you than about him. For the record, having worked in Sydney for a while, A$100 is easily achievable in hundreds of professions. Plumbers, mechanics etc easily charge more than that; why shouldn't freelance university lecturers?

You can't get it for mowing neighbours lawns though, and he does that for extra pocket money doesn't he? I can understand a plumber earning good money but academics don't. I thought everyone knew that.

Some people believe anything they read on the www, which is rather sad, and somewhat foolish. I also find it very sad when people suck up to cyber strangers who they've never clapped eyes on. I would take my hat off to Generali if he was a success or a self-made millionaire but he was in dire straights not that long back. So no, I don't respect or listen to people who are in dire straights themselves, and hir middle age without a bean to their name. For all his so-called expertise he has very little to show for it. And he'd love to be rich - he's admitted it. Maybe he should take his own advice! lol

If he were a ''boaster'' surely he would have sat on any bad news? why believe the one but not the other/ Academics CAN earn well, my guess is visiting lecturers get a better flat fee but no employment perks? Dunno.

Oh, forgot! A click of your little mouse will bring up Australian salaries!:D NOW tell me there's not porkies going round..............

Generali seems to live in somewhat of a dreamworld. He thought he was going to make BILLIONS a few years back - that never happened either. Maybe becasue he spends too much time on here chattering away as a form of escapism.

He still hasn't answered the question from the other member (the airline pilot) about his teaching methods. Funny that isn't it?

I'm not going to fight Generali's battles for him. He can do that himself.

Your posts on this subject reveal some kind of issue which, as I said before, says more about your sense of self-worth than it does anyone else's.

Good luck to you with those issues.

I lived in Sydney. I know what the salaries are. I suspect you've never been within several thousand miles of the place.
