    Who said anything about resentment?
Why feel the need to post your salary on a forum? If someone approached you in the pub asking how much you earned I'm sure you wouldn't reveal your salary....... but then again you probably would.

In a pub you're not anonymous.

On an anonymous forum you are - go figure.

After looking through this thread I am amazed at the amount of high earning 'bears.'

To be quite frank, priced out my !!!!. That or you are lying about what you are earning or have a couple of Bentleys on finance.

Alternatively you don't see value in the housing market at the moment. There's no shame in admitting this, infact I feel the same way myself but just don't see a big crash looming.

People may be high earners but due to how they earn their income they can't get a mortgage.

Plus one them has never moaned about the fact they are renting. Even though another one of them is very vocal about it.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Or have significant other liabilities. e.g. DH's income is high, but he has to support me on it too. If he earned less and I earned more (or anything) we'd pay less of it in tax and have more to spend. Not that it really matters.
