Not been covered? crubbs, I remember an extensive thread about his not long ago.
General consensus is/was, digital signal is..er..digital, 0s and 1s, they either pass down the cable or don't, rubbing a £1 cable in snake oil doesn't make it worth £50.

    ..so..cheaper the better :)

Yep, agreed. I remember the exact same thread or I may have read it on the t'interweb

As mentioned above, the concensus was a £1 cable works just as well as a £100 cable

    Working towards DFD

when i had my tv isf calibrated we hooked it up with a £90 lead, a £3 ebay lead and the 50p sky hd lead which is not even gold coloured ;)

they made no difference to the results

....oh yes, my same work colleague recently confessed to having not one but TWO £110 'kettle' type mains plug leads he bought for his sound system, even he is embarassed about that one with hindsight :p
Well I doubt they'll help the sound system by any measurable degree but I have heard that using a braided kettle lead when boiling water improves the flavour of some good teas - not that nasty cheap "builders" tea naturally.

as others have said HDMI is digital so all it does is transport zeros and ones so therefore it either does that or doesnt, no spending of £10, £50 or £500 is ever going to change that so just buy the utter cheapest you can find, esp for lengths below 5m above that it changes

I use the poundland ones, I cannot see any problem with them apart from being limited to 1m long.

I have several spares just in case one ever develops a fault.
