I am not sure about gravy powder, I think you mix it with a bit of cold water, and maybe some cornflour to thicken  , but it might say on the pack, the beef should be cooked by now, hope its nice

    Yoo Hoo!

    It was amazing!!!!!!!

OK, here is what I did. I removed the beef from the pot and wrapped it in foil. I then poured the contents of the SC (all the mushy veg and juice) into a saucepan and brought it to the boil. I let it boil for a few minutes. During which time I called my Dad and asked him how to use Bisto powder. It's easy. I just mixed some a few teaspoons in a small cup of water and then stirred it into the boiling pan Oh, I forgot to mention that before hand I poured the contents through a large colander and set the mushy veg aside.

Ok, It made a FANTASTIC gravy, I then added the mushy veg back into the gravy and let it simmer. Then I pulled apart the meat, it really did slice so easily, chopped a few tomatoes and served it with gravy gloop on meat and tomatoes on the side. The meat was delicious. Way beyond my expectations.

Thanks in particular to Red Ruby and Mandy Moo!!!!!!!!!!!

One last question. Should store the remaining sliced meat wrapped in foil in the fridge and the gravy gloop separately. Or should I combine it all in one tub and store it that way?

i'd store them together in the fridge, or you can freeze any left overs, then you can just re-heat it in the microwave. well done! :T

i'm jealous...i just had cold quiche that i made yesterday, with some salad ;)

OK, going to let it all cool down and then freeze it al together in the fridge.....

I was going to say in support that I'm sure your quiche was lovely...... but I can't! :)

There is something wrong with quiche, in the same way that there is something wrong with cottage cheese or sultanas in curry!!!!!

    :):)

I hope you didn't take offense to my quiche comment?

Shall we turn this thread into what foods do you think are wrong? I mean surely I'm not the only one who can't fathom why you would put sultanas into curry? Again, I'm not criticising, it's all in good fun.

I guess the same people who love a sweet curry, feel equally bemused by me adding about a cup full of fresh, chopped chili to my currys!
