MAGNETIX - Is it worth the money?

My son is about to turn 10 and I was thinking of buying him a box of magnetix. Is it any good? He's got k'nex and makes some incredible models from that so it's probably the sort of thing he'd like. The older boys get the harder it is to buy for them without it costing a fortune!

Hi - we i bought a set of geomag for my cousin and he absolutly loved it,,,,is the same kinda thing....even his younger sister battled him to get to play with it for a while. well worth buying!0

My 12 yr old has had Geomag for about 3 yrs and still loves it.
And - according to her 14 yr old cousin - Geomags is the superior product as the magnets are stronger.
Both The Entertainer and Toys r us sometimes have sales of these products - owth checking before you buy.0 -
I'd definitely go for Geomag - much better product - better magnets, nicer to look at... very addictive!:D0

My sons are 3 and 4 and have Magnetix and they love it ! It is expensive but lasts forever. My nephew still plays with his and he is 10. :rotfl:0

At 10 he might find it a bit easy, especially compared to knex and lego etc. Perhaps just a small set of the best one?0

I agree with everything that has been said! My boys aged 4 and 6 have magnetix and can play with it for hours. The world is full of Pink Fluffy Clouds......you just need to open your eyes to see them:)

I'd second everything said as well, my son has Geomag, excellent quality and although it is very expensive, taking into account the anount of time he's spent playing with it, it's one of the best value for money things he's ever had. Just don't be tempted to have a go yourself, you'll be there for hours.........0

Just a word of warning to the little ones who play with this
my friend bought some last year for her 4 year old and he put the silver ball in his mouth and swallowed it they had to take him to hospital and luckily they said he should pass it normally so they had to check every time he went to the toilet because if he didnt pass it with in a few days he would need an op
we have got lots of the geomag and my children thinks its great and ive never had any problems0 -
