Bailiffs - even though I paid

In short I incurred a fine earlier this year.

I paid on the 15th September online.

Today I've had a Bailiffs letter demanding payment of the £90 plus their £75 costs.

I've spoken to the court who've said tough we passed it over yes we can see you've paid but you have to pay the bailiffs their fees.

Also on the letter it says that

"the bailiff may force entry to your premises to execute this Warrant ( under DVCV act )"

what Do I do
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )

From who and for what? And who did you pay?

    It was a motoring offence

    I paid online 15th September

the letter is from Philips Bailiffs claiming the full amount including what I've already paid.

Strangely no date on the letter or the envelope !

So I've got 7 days from when to pay ?

I've been arguing the toss with them as Although I accepted the ticket at the time I was given it later documents have a different registration mark.

But when did you get the offence, and who issued it ? And did you appeal against it, really was it a parking ticket or something else ? We need a lot more detail to advise you properly.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

If the registration mark is not your car, then send it back saying "that's not my car!"
  • DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM OVER THE PHONE. Head over to DFW - put the post on there - they can supply you with a letter to serve to the baliffs. Do you have proof of payment?
  • Mark,

The advice from the court was a clerical error does not invalidate the ticket
the offence was failure to display a tax disc.

Sorry getting flustered ATM I paid online using the Governments fines payment service

    mommyme

    what is DFW

  • DFW - Debt free wannabe's - They deal with baliffs all the time and have LOADS of letters you can issue to them to stop harrassing you if you have paid the debt.

    Link is here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76

When you pay on the web did you get an email confirmation? Can you get your bank statement proving you have paid?

Dont speak to the debt collectors over the phone, they twist things and use it to their advantage. Ask for EVERYTHING to be done in writing (dont even answer the door to them, if they come, shout through the letter box. Keep all your windows closed until this is sorted as they use this as entry into your property)

Thanks. Presumably you paid within all relevant time limits etc?
  • Mark I've reposted on DFW as advised,

Basically I was silly and sent a cheque which the courts service claimed took over 3 weeks to arrive so the just returned it.

May we see the letter - suitably edited of course.

It sounds as though the court was talking rubbish.
