can anyone recommend a nice, clean hotel in amsterdam?....ideally as central as possible and defo ensuite.. I know amsterdam hotels are very expensive so we are willing to pay to get a good hotel, but still the cheaper the better lol....theres so so many and i have been trawling through trip advisor and any with a good review is so expensive, then the ones with dodgy reviews are more reasonable....surely someone must have found a wee gem somewhere?? thankyou

I know that you asked for a central location, however, what I have done a few times is use a high end airport hotel and use the airport train to access the centre.
I appreciate that this option may be inconvenient to some, but you can get some great deals on 5* Schipol hotels as many city options can represent poor value.0 -

You might find something on here, recommendations by people who've stayed at the accommodation.

Could i suggest you try the SAS Hotels web site ? they often have some good deals at the SAS hotel next to the Dam Square , on the Damrak .
We got room there for 50% cheaper than any other hotel offers web sites , worth a try as the hotel is A! !
If you stay at an hotel at the airport trains and buses run 24 hours a day with good late night /early morning runs as well !
Must really say to you , the cheap hotels in amsterdam are cheap for a reason ! they are rubbish ! go for the best you can afford even if a bit above what you expected to pay !A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !
Whats Your Excuse ?0 -

I have used this site many times, but not for Amsterdam and every time it has exceeded our expectations.

Don't forget public transport is fantastic (and cheaper than the UK) in the Netherlands so don't rule out hotels away from the city centre unless you really want to be central0 -
