    Thanks for the lovely messages.

Had a spendy pay for me, new trainers for DD2, birthday present for a relative. Treated DD1 to new hair bobbles, she goes through one a day, always losing them.

Postage was £4.90 as well, serves me right for not being organised enough and having to send 1st class.:(

Lovely to see some sun, and the benefits are seen in the pocket as well as mind.

Cheap day for us, well hardly anywhere is open which helps.

Church am, which is usual for us anyway. (Low spend, as just charitable donations. Less than £20)

Snack lunch out £10.55 for four of us including drinks.

    Park free.

Visited old house to check on progress, free, played in garden at home, free.

:)Was going to report a no spend day, as I've been stuck in with a mystery stomach bug.

Was up all night being sick, but succumbed to medicine so spent £2. forgot that I get paid on Friday, so may make a small OP.

Have had my date for my 20 week scan and its next week so I can look forward to that :)

Got paid on Friday (last wageslip of the year) and was thinking. When I started this diary in 2010 we owed 7x income on the mortgage.

With Ops and me returning to work we now owe just over 3x joint income on the mortgage. Which feels much healthier.

Changes to council tax mean that we are having to pay full council tax on our empty home whilst we sell. Ouch £100 a month.

Have ended up with £8000 in my current account. (Tenants who were in rent arrears have paid a large installment to almost pay them off.) Need to use £2800 to cover 6 months mortgage payments. (Like to have this at all times - even though I'm more for OPing than saving.)

So £4000 or £5000 OP will have a think - as OH moaning about a hol, we have a new baby coming, new house to buy stuff for etc.

Had my scan today and didn't find out the sex of the baby so that will be a nice surprise although both my daughters are convinced its another girl and 'do not like boys.':rotfl:

    OP of £5,000 sent today - excited:j:j:j

Think that knocks a whole 11 months off - I'm thinking that we might actually try for MF in 7 years for 35 no harm in trying.

  • Wow thats an amazing OP!:T
2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.

Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
    Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(

Brilliant OP, was that your target for 2013 aswell?

My DD was adamant she wanted a sister and when we found out we were having a boy she delcared she had a sister in her belly! She dotes on her little brother now so they may change their minds depending what you have :)

Hope you are feeling better aswell, there have been too many bugs about.
