Have been the victim of fraud on my halifax online banking, so have shut it down, second time in the last year. So I'm missing online banking.
May transfer to another online service as Oh and I share a computer yet his ~Natwest accounts weren't affected either time.
Will update SOA soon. Starting a spending diary 1st of July. Missing £300 rent this month.OPs so far £42,139

well I've paid for shopping, car tyres, got DD2 half her bday present but only got £7.15 left until I get paid tomorrow very tight month.
Once I get paid I've got £118 to pay for gas and electrical safety certificates.
Plus the disputed £160 bill from a local plumber, don't mind paying this if he comes back and rectifies the work.
Plus aug my buildings insurance is due for rented house so about £200. plus rent I'm receiving for period only covers mortgage so I'm going to have to find £500 from my other (already tight budgets)0OPs so far £42,139

Going to try and stay away from online newspapers as I couldn't sleep until 4am after reading about poor Olivia Downie, who was trying to get home from Mexico to die (she managed to get home after raising £110,000 for a special plane.) She'd gone over for 'miracle' treatment but hadn't responded. So sad.
Think I'm also subconciously stressed about money again. I'm getting fed up with budgeting all the time, not sure what for, 'the future'?
Well maybe these are going to be the best times, and enjoying them might be better, than constantly budgeting. Think we need a bit more balance. Will have a think.OPs so far £42,139

I totally understand how you are feeling, but its probably been heightened by the sad story you read in the news. Whenever I am trying to decide whether to make a purchase or not I always have the devil telling me to go for it, you only live once... and the angel telling me to save my money. I think its important to strike a balance. You do amazingly well on what is quite a low salary, I would suggest you cut yourself a little slack, as stress is good for no-one.

Uni reunion was a lot of fun, think I learned a lot about myself. Think I was probably always destined to be how I am really. I ALWAYS wanted to outright own my own home, I had four jobs to get the deposit for my houses.
The only thing probably that I didn't see coming was the kids, or OH. We got together early on at uni, but it is a miracle we have made 9 years in Sept. (Everyone is always shocked and I didn't really get an answer as to why.)
Oh has been quite supportive so I think he has finally realised that I do work hard. With the rented house, that I completely self manage. The builder. The kids. Working most evenings. Caring for extended family members. Plus I'm quite stressy and always have been really. I'm more settled now than I've ever been and still I would say I'm constantly nakered, running on empty and busy.
Definitely going to be taking a steo back from it and enjoying myself more. Haven't been on a night out in four years due to cost and I'm only 27 so time to live a little I reckonOPs so far £42,139

Hi, I have not popped in to your diary for a while but you are doing great. On a fairly low income with a young family its very hard and no wonder you sometimes doubt whether its the right thing to be doing, everyone else around is spending!
However four years without a night out is too long
Do you do girly nights in with friends?, I have a friend who likes to do those from time to time, we all take something to eat, have a couple of bottles of wine and a bit of kareoke or play silly games on the wii.
Its cheap and probably more enjoyable than being stood in and expensive bar stressing out how much you are spending when you could get it cheaper in the supermarket
MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi Sarah, I think you do an amazing job! But as you say, you do need to relax a little if you haven't been out for 4 years! Even Squirrel makes sure she gets lots of cheap R&R, and she's my MFW gold standard!!
