Stud wall is going up - I've confirmed with a local builder, who's done work for us before.

So barring him not turning up in July, it will be up this summer.

Mine is let from 1st Sept-til 1st Sept 2013 - so it was now or wait til summer 2014. Which seemed ridiculous, if we can't let it to five because of licensing then it's £1300 which isn't the end of the world.

£155,000 is good we paid £185,000 in 2007. This is what is getting my goat. We bought both houses in 2007 so probably have *lost* £20 or £30K on each.

The mortgage works used to ask for 'income' but no minimum income. So you had to be employed but didn't matter about salary.

    Halifax ask for minimum £25,000.

The criteria's vary, I know I could remortgage and I earn £8000 from my 'job.' Wouldn't though as mine is now on variable at base +1.75 so couldn't match that. Plus I like the flexibility that I've got no ERC as I'm out of my 2 year fix.

I think that I may have gone and got myself a parking ticket today - whilst driving the vehicle. I was coming to the end of a narrow side street leading onto an A road with large stop signs at the bottom. I was about the fourth car up (the others, which I didn't realise at the time were parked up, I thought that they were waiting to join the A road). Anyway it's residents parking on those streets and a parking attendant had a look at my car and started writing in his book.

Needless to say I'll be appealing - they are very over zealous round here.

I feel your unmotivation, we are doing DIY projects and there just isn't enough money to go around. Cost of living certainly not helping and it's probably easier to OP during the Winter months when there is less temptation. Can't view my mortgage online either anymore which is frustrating.

Hope that parking ticket appeal (if necessary) goes well, that attendant was rather over keen!

Back from our newspaper hol at Cayton (weather a bit rubbish.)

Drew out £40 a day spending money for the four of us, and when it was gone it was gone so that was good.

OH is finally getting this moneysaving thing after 9 years:rotfl:He has promised no more spending £3 a day on shop bought dinners.

Another biggie is his £2400 annual profit share that's due the end of June. He has agreed to save it, normally he 'treats' himself. He's saving it incase we need it for a better mortgage deal in Nov when we remortgage. We have both agreed that it would be so annoying to miss LTV for a couple of thousand.

Sadly he still doesn't want another baby and isn't sure he ever will, I'm gutted about this and desperate for another - so trying to distract myself with focusing on the joys of the two kids I have. Not helped my DD1 constantly going on about how much she would like another baby:rotfl:

I feel your pain Brodibobs, as one of my main ways to convince OH is by saying wouldn't it be nice to have a boy to add to the two girls we already have. Doesn't work though as he says he couldn't risk three girls lol!

Spoke to a mortgage broker today about our remortgage and Marsden building society had the best deals.

worked an extra hour which ended up on night rate yay.

Finally got the new tax credits confirmation through the post -

Entitled to no working family tax credits. Down from £112 evey four weeks. Child tax credit down from £452 every four weeks to £340. So losing £224 every four weeks.

Pleased to have it though as i knew our entitlement would be going down and wanted it sorting before an overpayment.

Going to start a spending diary so that I can update my SOA due to the drop in income from tax credits.

That's a blow about tax credits. I think this will be the last year we qualify. I have sent our renewal but want it confirmed so I know if we would be entitled to help towards childcare costs. They change the rules so much you can never work out your entitlement.

Just dropping by to add that OH has had a £1500 a year pay increase, and has decided to put anything over £1000 a month into savings so with his pay increase (£134 a month) at the end of the year he should have £1500 - so wonder if in the next 12 months I can convince him to OP it. Also he's due his annual profit share end of next week £2400 and he's putting that into savings.

He gts a similar amount every year, and usually it is all gone by the time the next one's due, as quite frankly we don't earn a lot. (About £23,000 joint last year, and £27,000 joint this year.)

He's got £120 of last years left, but at least he is now putting the money into a separate account and only touching it when we need to, this years went on christmas presents, and holidays. Plumbing work £240. New tap £80. Leaking water tank £50. Resealing bath £100.

He thinks he will spend the annual bonus, but not the increase in pay so by June 2013 we should have an extra £1500 to play with.
