fake ebay item

I recently bought an adidas jacket off a buisness seller on ebay. Before i bought it i emailed the seller asking about sizes and if it is a genuine adidas jacket. They replied but only answered the question about size. They have good feedback so i bought the jacket anyway. The jacket arrived today and is not genuine. We bought another of these jackets from an adidas shop earlier in the year and this one is different as in the stitching, labels, quality etc. It cost £35. What should i do?

You may struggle to get a letter from an addidas retailer to confirm it is counterfeit, but as Kaaaarl says, that should be your first point of call, (after emailing the seller to advise you would like to return it as it is not genuine) you don't say if you've done that.
If you have no letter to prove its fake you will loose a paypal claim,
I had a simular experience with UGGS
I informed consumer Dirrect, trading standards and the police.
Non could help, unbelievably.
Although, if the seller is selling multiple fake goods you may have more luck there than I did.
I did eventually threaten to take the seller to small claims and eventually got a refund and returned the uggs.
It was a lesson learned for me
Good luck with it. You may well have to just put it down to a bad experience.
Ebay and paypal make fortunes from the sale and re sale of fake items, they are really not interested in helping you here0 -
What i cannot understand is they have 100% feedback many of which are for the same item. Am i the only one to notice or am i just picky.0

Whatever you do, do NOT open up a case for it being fake until you have the confirmation on a signed headed letter (and usually they then keep the jacket and destroy it), as you only get 10 days to then provide this information once the dispute is open.
The issue the shop will have writing this letter is that you chose to buy elsewhere, and not with them, so perhaps you could suggest buying the jacket from them instead?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Hi, perhaps it is a second, rather than a fake. When I buy sports items from our local outlet a lot of the stuff has dodgy seams, bad zips etc...
Did you win it for a lot less than it would have been in the shop?I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0 -

Adidas may be a little more forthcoming in helping you with fakes than other stores, especially as they have their own branded store (unlike taking a pair of Uggs into Office) so take it down there first and see if they can help. As pinkshoes says though, dont file with Paypal that its fake until you have proof firmly in your hands.0

Did it arrive recorded or by signed delivery?0

I had to sign for it.0

If it was a business seller just send it back under DSR. he can not refuse you a full refund. Then neg him for selling fakes, please remember the next time though that 99% of designer gear on ebay is fake.0
