Phone calls - probably wrong board.

Personally I would be inclined to call your own number, (but use 0151) see if 'Paul' answers
can't do that liverpool numbers are always 0151 123 456
our area code is 01234 123456 (eg)There is a post on Whocallsme which says that the number 01204677601 belongs to a company called Credit Flex.
The Telephone Number Company tells us that 01204 is the area code for Bolton.
Interestingly, Credit Flex tell us their address is in Bolton.
Clearly not conclusive proof, but...
thank you i was trying to do the link but couldn't i will be giving credit flex a call tomorrow to see what i can do.0 -
Not quite - you missed a digit off the Liverpool example: it should read 0151 123 4567, but the point's still valid.Saint_Chris wrote: »can't do that liverpool numbers are always 0151 123 456

this sounds similar to my problem which can be found here:

fortunately they phoned my MOBILE asking for the person who is not me, and so I could just block any dodgy numbers that phoned and asked for "josie". I would be annoyed if it happened on home phone...
i hope you get it sorted out, must be a massive pain!0 -
You're not going to solve it overnight unfortunately, Saint_Chris. But...
Make sure you're ex-directory, register with the TPS right now, and tell every company who phones that you're registered with TPS. If you get repeated calls from the same numbers, ask your service provider to block the number. Trying to find this guy just ain't gonna work...
Hopefully it will settle down in time. If not, change your number..?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hi
just tell them you think he has gone to prison/won the lottery/emigrated to a small island in the middle of the ocean. Keep inventing more and more detail, they will soon get bored.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Fluffnutter speaks sense, but it sounds like 'Paul' gave out your number on some form that he filled in. TPS doesn't cover that.
You could get yourself a cheap answering machine and screen the calls. Won't reduce the number of them, but it'll save your time having to pick up the 'phone.
Or say 'he's moved, the new number is' and give the number of one of the companies that's been bothering you.If you would be wealthy, think of saving as well as getting.0
