Startrite shoe sizing

Does anyone know if the startrite shoe sizes are the same as clarks. I'm looking at a pair for my daughter in 7.5G but i've only ever bought clarks and unable to try any on as our town is exclusively clarks.

Anyone with startrite and clarks experience out there?

Thanks.

No they're not the same, Start-Rite tend to come up a half size-ish bigger, so you'd need a 7 and maybe F. They are much nicer shoes though.

I much prefer start-rite too. My DD's feet don't really fit Clarks shoes and I always find their shoes tend to come in strange colours. I'm sure it's so you find it tricky to get one pair to match everything and end up getting 2 pairs.
  • Quite possibly, i'm also losing my faith in clarks as my DD has had a couple of bad fittings lately and despite my son wearing 8.5G shoes for the last 3 months, when i took him to be measured a fortnight ago thinking he might be nearing a 9G, I was told he's still only an 8! So i don't know, it seems to differ depending who you get on the day.
  • i havent bought from clarks as i am extremly fortunate to have the start rite factory where i live so we can go to their factory shop they cost almost half what they do in the shops. i have to sdmit i spent ages buying cheaper shoes that lasted 5 minutes, till i didscovered start rite, id never go back not with the damge my son does to his shoes lol.

i dont know about the sizes sorry so my post was just a bit of a ramble really sorr.

If you order online from start rite, you can buy their own foot measuring gauge. I think it was only a couple of pounds.
The website delivery was very quick, & had some good sale items on last time I bought. £13 for a pair of shoes she'd tried on in a shop, where they were £43!

I always thought the startrite shoes were sturdier but they were also more expensive, depends if you think it's worth it when kids grow so quickly, but agree with other posters about the different sizes

I too buy startrite, tbh I didn't see much difference in the price between Clarks and Startrite, unfortunately we don't have one near us so the extra cost for us is petrol but they last for ages and I have every confidence in them.

It is probably just individual shops but we did go last week to measure dd for a pair of boots in Clarks and I was horrified at the way the assistant was forcing my DD's feet into the boots wont be back there in a hurry will stick with what I know is the best:)

Sooz thanks for that i'm going to have a look at that right now!
