bet you'll be greatful for that new radiator tomorrow as it's rather cold at the moment.
great to having a fridge full of stuff so at least if you get snowed in you'll be able to eat
  • FF's Spendy Elves have been keeping me company today - first was the Soap and Glory set (which is gorgeous, but has to go back tomorrow morning as it has bits missing) then came a small fortune spent on Walthamstow and Borough Markets.

I say you send FF's spendy elves right back to her!! :D

yay to storage heater being fitted. Hope you're toasty warm soon.
Most of my sanctuary stuff is Mande but i do have the odd bit which is Kylphi. I have found i have to be careful with some of there special ranges as they can contain lanolin which i can't use.
  • Thanks for keeping the thread warm ladies!

Taxi - no real risk of us being snowed in (although a few weeks back I would have said there was no real risk of us getting an appreciable amount of snow at this time of year so that shows what I know!) - we have a Tesco within ewalking distance (it's about a mile or so in a straight line through the woods although around three times that distance by road) so we would be able to get there on foot at a pinch. The fridge full of food is still a god thing though! :D

Palema - I've tried sending them back but they keep being returned marked "return to sender" - I'm going to try painting them pink with "Soap and Glory" written on the packaging - that ought to do the trick! :rotfl:

The new storage heater is :T - we've both been wandering round in astonishment at how warm the place is! It'll be fully commissioned (Takes two full cycles from when it's fitted) by middle of today so I'll be able to play with the settings and get it *just* right.

I probably need a list for today so must give that thought. I have my doubts that my Avon delivery is going to get through but they've not put any updates on the website - we only have about 4 inches of snow but it's causing a fair bit of road chaos - we went over to Mr EH's Brother's family on Saturday night and it tok us one hour and fifty minutes to do the 5 - 10 minute drive to the M11! He left here at 7.25 this morning and texted me just after 8am to say he'd not reached it yet this morning either so obviously still bad. Anyway - quick TADA for this morning's achievements so far:

    Up, showered, dressed
Tried to sort out whether Avon is coming - no luck.
Washing machine set ready to go on tonight
Helped MrEH scrape his car - it's seriously cold out there!
Draining rack cleared and Load of washing up done.

You're not wrong. I was delivering Avon books earlier on and came across about three households where they had obviously melted the snow using hot water - cue a front path masquerading as an ice rink! Mostly the pavements are fine here ATM, but the roads are lethal as they've still not been gritted.

Hopefully they are the sort of people who consider a kettle full of boiling water to be a good way to defrost their windscreens! :D
