My husband applied for a Marks and Spencer &more card on Saturday and was sent an email turning him down about an hour later.

I applied for one for me earlier today and have received an email saying they will contact me with decision via post - am not sure whether to take this as a good sign or not!!

Has anyone been told they'll receive a decision in the post and then been refused anyway?

Trying not to get hopes up!

  • I got this card recently, transferred 2 balances on to it at 3.9% for lob and was not charged a fee. It is a really good deal.

Some people have been told they will get a decision in the post and have been accepted.

    Hi

I have a question regarding the card. Does anyone know if and what the fee is when buying things abroad. Will be travelling to the states in the near future.

    Thanks in advance

I applied today and also got the email saying they will send me a decision by post, fingers crossed, eh ;)

It arrived about 10mins after I completed the application so maybe it means we've passed the initial credit scoring but they need to run a credit check before accepting?

2.75%, according to the charges section in the Summary Box.

However, why not buy your currency/travellers cheques from M&S Travel Money before you go, and enjoy 0% for 12 months (on a new card).

I applied and never got any e-mails which made me wonder if I would be accepted. Anyway I received paperwork in the post and then y/day got my pin and today received my card. My credit limit is higher than I expected I would get so that is good.

Now I can stop using my Egg card. :)
  • I got a second email yesterday telling me my application was successful and that I would receive the paperwork to sign and return within the next few days :D

I've been told it'll be rolled out by the end of October.

However, as they've been stating "We are currently developing this facility..." on their website since at least May 2005, I'm not holding my breath.

The bit in the FAQ but it being developed has been removed so maybe they will be launching it soon.

My mum e-mailed them to ask about the checking online and this the reply she got today.

Thank you for your e-mail concerning an online facility.

I have spoken to our Web Design Manager, who has informed me that our
on-line facility will be available in the next few months.

Further details will be available on our website nearer the time.
