more baggage, more things that might get lost.
  • I complained via the telephone but was also urged to send a complaint message through their secure message function on online banking.

Hopefully, the more of us that do this will at least raise our concerns about the issue.

Exactly. Who wants to be taking a card reader when travelling? The FlexAccount is going downhill fast. Nationwide caused enough upset removing free cash withdrawals abroad. I used to hold the Nationwide in great admiration. Not now.

Uncompetitive interesting rates, closing down our local branch, now more hoops to jump through before signing on to view my internet account.

I can't think of any reasons to stay with Nationwide!

I would question whether Nationwide might have been better off, in both PR and member value terms, simply selling off the FlexAccount business if they didn't want to remain a meaningful player in the current account market.

    Like Santander!! maybe not.

Do remember that even BS have suffered during this recession as well.

But as you know I am on your side. I use to like nationwide but over the past year its useless to me. Without fast payments and the credt rating like normal banks. What is the point.
  • I had in the back of my mind the thought in my mind knightfox that Nationwide could have made us better off in member value terms by selling off the FlexAccounts (to Santander perhaps lol) and at least would have had profits from the sale to plough back into the savings and mortgage business.

The way they are going they'll have shed FlexAccount customers by the bucketload without maximising value for members.

I don't think there's a probabilistic relationship between number of items packed and odds of losing it. Would you expect to lose your wallet because you added an extra pair of socks?

The readers are free, if you leave it at your hotel or whatever, then who cares, get another... or just get more than one and leave one at home.

Dont worry too much about it, I am using another account as a main account.

Its just that I travel for business quite a bit. This month I am away from my home every week. So I find it easy to do my banking online at hotels. I just like it to be easy then there are no problems to forget or be discret when accessing accounts.

With Natwest / RBS I can set up bill payments etc then use without a card reader when I want to transfer money around / bill payment.
