  • Hi Everyone, I went to the xmas shop in Boots Sauchiehall street and used some of the vouchers I had been sent recently.

I bought 3 time delay moisturisers , they are on 342 at the moment £9 ea
2 impulse gift sets and got the dove gift set free £10 ea
2 mary kate and ashley gift sets and got 1 free @ £5 ea
1 no 17 eyeliner @£3.49 1no 17 nail polish @£2.99 and got free make up wipes (voucher from adv m/c)
All in the total came to £57.45 I then received with my double points voucher 229 points (twice) 700 points with my time delay voucher (sent by post recently) and the 1000 points for spending over £50 . so for a spend of £57.45 I received back on my card £21.58 not a bad shop me thinks shrewdal :j
  • Sandwiches? Wine? Goody Bags? Trafford Centre was pork pies, sausages, satay sticks and orange juice. Not to mention the obviously new members of staff who just shrugged their shoulders and said "dunno" when asked did they know where I could find a particular item!

shopping evening around 5.30 in Harlow was abysmal. No demonstrations, food or drink. Although there was a very skinny Father Christmas offering chocolate lollipops (none to me though).

On the other hand managed to top up my Vodafone with £50, used a 200 point voucher, double points and took advantage of the 1000points and £5 no7 voucher offered. At the first till the SA said top-ups weren't working. Tried at the pharmacy counter and it was no problem!!

  • Well no goody bags at Oxford, just a lot of tired bored looking staff!

Had the last laugh though as forgot to use my Pigsback vouchers when the sale went through (Was getting muddled up after fighting my way to the gift section!)... So I went back and asked them (nicely!) to refund the whole sale and put it back through so I could use the vouchers! Lovely SA willingly obliged, but I also ended up getting double the amount of points!

So, on a £63 shop I used £32 of vouchers I got free off pigsback over the last few months, and got a whopping £26 worth of points!!! (2x 1000 bonus, 1 x 350 bonus out the advantage card machine, and the usual points on the £60 shop!)!!! OH was amazed when I got home with the haul and told him it effectively cost me a fiver!! :)

Now going through the gift guide in anticipation of using my points on the next shopping evening! ;)

    hi
i have never posted here before but with reference to the parenting club points,i queried this at the shopping evening yesterday as i had rang the advantage line prior to going and they confirmed that i would also receive my parenting club points for £75 spend as well as offer points, they did not show on receipt so spoke to manager who contacted advantage line and they said that with the shopping evenings it was automatically overriding parenting club points but i should have received them so the manager added the manually for me there and then .i purchased quite a few things including double buggy, nappies and most of my christmas presents spent £564 and received £190 back in advantage points,
well worth the trip i would say
hope this can help someone who would have been receiving the parenting club points
    thanks

the one I went to Speke,Liverpool
I was struggling to find £50 worth
because most of the things I had in mind
    to buy,were just not there,typical.
Did have a couple of glasses of wine
some nice prawn & chicken salad sandwiches,
celebrations chocs, passed on the mince pies.
Only because I fancied one of the fruit & nut
coated dark chocolates instead, they were very nice
shame really because people were asking what
shelf they were on ? only to be told they had bought
them in from elsewhere. The free goodie bags were
    very nice.saved £17.09 on 3 f 2 and gained 1,205
points on my card,Will go to the next one but I
think the one in town will be a better bet as the
choice was very limited at Speke
Do you know when the one in Town is on?

This was the first year I remembered the date for a Boots Christmas shopping evening, I went to the one at Liverpool Street station in London. Small table with glasses of wine and some scrummy chocolate biscuits but no goody bags or demonstrations - store was so packed and badly laid out that there wasn't enough room for drinking wine. However I spent £107 and got £170 worth of stuff plus 3500 points - I had lots of coupons for free items and extra points. the cashier was very diligent and they all went through, also found £6 worth of Gilette vouchers attached to Pretty Polly tights. The biggest item I bought was a shaver for the OH (£90 down to £60) which he decided he didn't like so I had to take it back, thought that'll be the end of all those lovely points but they very kindly let me keep the points. So my total haul was £80 worth of stuff for £47 plus 3500 points and £60 worth of coupons! I was happy.

    you were all lucky

Went to walsall, no wine or food, no goody bags, no free draws or demonstrations.

Will stick to tamworth in future, it was good there last year

    kerry x

I went to ventura retail park one last night and i have to tell you it wasn't

that special! No goody bags, no samples!

There was a small table with a few drinks, biscuits and bits of nibbles

    (peanuts etc). It was chaotic.

Do you know when the one in Town is on?

it was on at the same time as the one in Speke
the next one is Novemember 16th.
But I will definatly go to the town event as I have
done in the past.I kind of got the impression
that some things had been convieniantly removed
    for the evening.
I looked at around 3.30pm the plan was to
get everything and then be getting served
just after 4pm.With hindsight I should have
cut my losses and got a bus into town.

although the food & freebies were good
