if you fly from newcastle with easy jet,on the same dates i want dep 23/07/11 - 06/08/11 they want nearly £1300!!!!

They are available up to about the 25th/26th March currently as part of the winter schedule. If the date you want is before then and you're not seeing any availability it might be that the route is not running over the winter, eg PIK-CIA.

Ryanair's summer schedule from Liverpool is now up for sale, nothing from Edinburgh yet though; are they not all released at the same time?

They are introduced bit by bit. Not sure all of the Liverpool flights are released yet. Unlike EasyJet, Ryanair often does not offer its cheapest fares immediately. Unless you have to travel at peak times you can usually save money by waiting for the bargain fares a couple of months in advance.

As with Liverpool, the flights available from East Midlands are not yet complete. Some routes are fully bookable, others not. For example you can book flights from Newcastle to Dublin, but not Dublin to Newcastle.

I booked my annual flights with Ryanair yesterday for Summer Holidays 2011. My actual price has reduced:

2010 price (booked the dates the flights came out): £376 (for 4 return flights)

2011 price (booked the dates the flights came out): £359 (for 4 return flights)

So far, so good. I had previously got a caxtonfx card - worked like a dream yesterday.

--- So here's the bad news ---

My flights were on "offer" with no taxes included. I had a brief look at last year's prices and the taxes were £200.

I know that Ryanair change the way they calculate their flights, but if they had factored in tax on top of my flights this time it would have been £559.

So you may want to delay booking, but at least I now have certainty and have nominally avoided paying what could be a hefty tax if Ryanair choose not to reduce their headline prices.
