I'm no expert and I am sure others have much more knowledge than me.
Some of Ryanair's 2010 summer schedules are ending at the end of this month and I don't know when the 2011 ones will come up. Don't think it'll be much this side of Christmas though.
What they do seem to be keen on at the moment is selling flights for departure in the next month or two (today's offer covers Nov - Dec) so they are not going to offer throway prices far in advance of your hols next July. You might have to wait to April/May.
If price is the main driver you might want to sit tight and hope that your intended dates and destination come up on a special offer or if you decide that the alternative price you have identified with another airline is acceptable to you then go ahead and book it. Forget that you may find out later that you might have got it cheaper. If the price is acceptable today it'll be acceptable in a few months time.
A bit like Deal or No Deal. Take the offer or hang about in the hope something better will arrive. It's up to you.0 -
phoned ryan air, they said flights for july will go on sale in april!!,surely this can't be right0

This year, I booked my flights with Ryanair, Gatwick to Alicante on New Years Day for flights Jul/Aug. The best price was to be had that day too (from what I was able to check before and after).0

i'm so undecided, don't know whether to book my flights with easyjet at £911 for five,or wait until ryan air release their flights0

That was twice what I paid with Ryanair. Well, almost twice - £470 for 5 inclusive infant/fees etc for flights. Thats why when I saw the price on New Years day, I couldn't say no! I looked at the Easyjet flight prices for summer 2011 and I refuse to pay what they want so we wont be going unless I find cheap ones again.0

My colleague said flights were released 6 months in advance. Usually RyanAir are cheaper than easyJet. My friend is in the same predicament as you and she has decided to wait for RyanAir to release their summer schedule.0

where was that flying from,i'm flying from edinburgh which is usually more expensive than flying from the south0 -
Jet2 is selling flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Palma until October next year. I love it how they mislead you by doubling the price of the return flights though. But then the 22kg allowance does come in handy with them.0
