Bought car and I don't like it!

I bought a used car yesterday from a dealer but after taking it home and having a drive I don't like it, is there anyway I might have a cooling off period or is it a case of tough luck?
Any advice welcome!
Thanks

  • if you were a dealer would you be happy taking the car back with one more owner on the document?

What kind of car is it?

I sympathise as it is hard to get the true feel of a car in a 15 minute test drive.

My wife and I visited several dealers when we were looking for a car recently. Most let us take a car for a quick test drive but one followed it up with an offer to lend us a car for a day.

Guess which one we ended up buying from.

The car would have lost thousands the minute you drove it from the forcourt. Do you really think the dealer should take the hit for that, get real.

I have a question. I have just bought a £20,000 car via the Internet. I love the car but if I didn't under the distance selling act would I be able to return it for a full refund within 7 days of delivery?

Why bother even replying with this kind of advice ? Perhaps you should try a spell check before you hit reply ?

OP why don't you just ask the dealership if they would be willing to take the car back, and choose another one with them, they have no legal reason to do so, but they may be sympathetic.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I usually know which cars I want before I go to a dealer, I do a lot of research online, Autotrader etc. When I finally get into a car a go on a test drive I know immediately if I like the car.

Yes you would. A few exceptions, must be no face to face negotiation,.. if the car was made to your spec, for example. See page 7 in this link.

But, you would be expected not to use it other to inspect it to ensure was of merchantable quality etc.
