  • Glad you are havinga good time so far Pen. I must say I am proud of your DS, I have watched three tv movies so far and although one I have watched before it was lovely. Plus no fear of catching any nasty germs surrounded by others :rotfl:

Are you planning anything nice for new year?
  • Hi Choc, Hi Pap,

Not sure about New Year yet - I like to go out early evening and take DS with us for an hour or so but I'm a bit of a home bird. We will definately do midnight at home, just the 3 of us.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • What a long week this feels like! I've started on my normal after Christmas de-clutter today. Decs and tree are still up as I love Christmas and hate taking the lights down but upstairs has been blitzed.

I finally cleared out the wardrobe I help Santa hide pressies in and have put my stuff back properly. This lead to a good clear out of leggings, jeans and jumpers with a couple of charity bags and a pile for the teenagers next door (they love raiding my clothes).

Then I changed all the bedding, dusted everything, washed the wooden floors and our room looks nice and calm for the first time in weeks. I'm sure the mess and clutter was something to do with keeping me awake at 3am!

DS replacement stereo arrived today and he was chuffed to bits. I couldn't believe it got to us so quickly, so full marks to Amazon for being so helpful with it.

We also went to the tip as the bin men haven't been able to get to us for weeks. We queued for almost an hour and they even had police there to help sort the traffic as its on the main road. It was complete madness - I never seen anything like it. Feels much better though with all the cardboard and rubbish bags gone.

I also got shot of the bin and loo brush in the bathroom that had been rusting away for yonks. But I'm not impressed with Mr T's. No value stuff available to replace them and they've put the price up on it all :( So new loo brush will have to wait for the pound shop tomorrow.

Other than that, no major spends (although I might need to invest in some earphones for DS). Still feeling quite festive here so off for another cosy night in with the family.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

So then 2011, what will it bring?

Had a good night out with DH and DS last night but back to ours for midnight as planned. DH has just cooked us roast dinner which was lush and I don't think we manage to do much else today.

I do have a couple of plans for the future, but I'm not ready to admit to them yet ;) Lets just say I might be a narky old moo for the next couple of weeks.

Asda online shop done for Monday evening and now just chillin in front the TV. (Its going to be a shock going back to work )

  • Part of my plan this year is to look after Pen for a change. So to start me off and to reward another of my achievements today, I've just treated myself to the Gok christmas box that's now half price at boots. I'd stashed a bit back from the Christmas grocery fund and decided to use it for myself. Can't wait for it to arrive as I love bath stuff.

Tomorrow morning I'm off out for a couple of hours to mooch around one of our local towns, hopefully some of the shops wil be open - if not it wil be nice to get a bit of fresh air.

DH and DS have been warned they'll be on washing up duty whilst I'm out :)

Lovely to hear you have purchased something nice to you yesterday. I hope you enjoy it. Good luuck for whatever the future brings, I am suure with your determination and will you can get through anything. After your unkind 2010 I don't see why not either. I can't wait to hear about all your plans :p Take care and make sure the two men in your life are kind to you as always.

A week or so into the new year already ... and I've some news. I haven't smoked since about 11.50pm on NYE :j and DH has joined me and managed 2.5 days. Pen Towers is now a smoke free zone and the garden ashtray has been dumped in the bin.

Its weird but I feel like I've got a bit of my umph back. I can be bothered again, things seem much lighter (if that makes sense?!)

I went through my wardrobe earlier in the week and split it into work and non work clothes. Officeware is a nightmare and I am fed up of rummaging around early in the morning for work clothes. What I did realise was everything I've been wearing for the last couple of months has been black. How depressing! I managed to make up quite a few work outfits with some coloured tops etc to liven them up a bit. Then I did a good blitz around the Matalan sale and got a pile of tops for £2.50 each in various colours to plump up the wardrobe a bit (can't get them cheaper than that in our local charity shops).

I've cleared out some of the loft and put the Christmas decs back today - made DH come down the tip with me (he hates it really) cos he was a pain in the butt yesterday. I can't believe we had been keeping old carpet tiles, and lino flooring. I could spend the next month doing a tip trip a day with all the junk up there.

Money wise, I think I've stashed enough from this fortnight's money to get my hair done on Wednesday. Gonna treat myself to some highlights again as I really miss my hair being lighter. I've also managed some overpayments on the evil debt and added a little to the holiday stash. We are getting there, very slowly, but its going down and not up - which is a start.

Off to finish off my bottle of Rose from last night that got rudely interupted ;)
