Am I mad to be considering a DFS sofa
Comments
-
i got mine from DFS 4 years ago and it's still going strong. Pretty much still looks the same as when we got it and the cushions are still very strong
we got it for 900 with the futton thingy (wife really wanted it) but with the interest free 3 years promotion, £28 a month, it was much more affordable than buying something outright up front.
Not saying that DFS is top of the range, but my experience of their stuff is so far so good0 -
well im really confused as what to do. the one im looking at (if its any good n the flesh) has a 10 springs and frame guarantee, which is more than the one i also like in sofa workshop, that only has a 5 year guarantee, plus the sofa workshop one is more money and they dont do finance...
thing is, i would love to go for a quality brand but we just cant afford it0 -
whatever......i liked your 13 years old sofa
DFS has 3 fabric sofas....you can get any of them..

I have got a DFS sofa it is 7 years old and it's like new. It's a fabric one not leather and it's great because you can take the cushion covers off and put it through the washing machine. My sister bought a leather one from DFS about the same time as I bought mine and hers is still going strong too. In fact most of my friends sofas are from DFS and I am yet to hear a story about them falling apart etc..
I do think a lot of people that say DFS sofas are rubbish have prob never actually owned one.
BTW as we were thinking of a new sofa we have been going around various sofa shops and trying sofas out - and DFS sofas are actually the comfiest 90% of the time. Ikea ones look nice but most are hard as rocks.0 -
well we also have 2 DFS sofas and have had them for about 6 years now and they are still in very good condition, just looking a bit used but not much
perfect as far as Im concerned0 -
We have 2 leather sofas which we've had for about 3 years and they look great still despite the children and dogs. I think they were about £1,200 in total which I think is cheap. The cushions are sewn on to the seats but the cushions inside are foam which I much prefer to the alternative. We bought a much more expensive fabric suite from a local retailer (10 year guarantee etc) and it doesn't look half as good and yet it's rarely used.0

Where are you in the UK Puddy?
I only ask because I bought a Leather G-Plan Sofa and chairs from a place in Wiltshire.
They have all the end of line, and left over stock from the factory.
He sells it at least 50% off retail price.
All legit and a good service too.
If you are willing to travel then I would recommend him.0 -

Have you tried Cargo for a sofa. In Swindon, John Lewis have their outlet place which stocks lots of discounted sofas.0
