Well still in a good mode overall but feeling guilty about the spending. Spent £4 groceries and 2.20 on mags. Then £23 on pizza followed by £3.50 to the kids on sunday. Yesterday saw more grocery spends of 2.55 then today diesel and lunch 67.44 and chinese at £6.40.

    So thats 35.95 on groceries
Diesel and lunch - both reclaimable
    £3.50 kids and £2.20 entertainment.
    TOTAL - 42.65

67.20 LESS 42.65 = . 24.55 left for month with 13 days to payday eek. Better get baking tonight will do some bread wraps for lunches. Still have £30 to pay for contacts but I do still have Dec expenses to claim so thats on tonights list along with new meal plan.

KP, I think it's the time of the year, been feeling a bit glum today myself.

I think that if you don't allow yourself any treats, then it's a hard line to take and just makes all this paying debt off no fun at all (not that it's much fun anyway!) You're more likely to keep chomping at the bit if you can have some nice things now and again.

Do you mealplan? Might help a bit with the unplanned takeaways? xx

  • I do occasionally meal plan but then I get tired and lazy and just grab stuff. I have a fair bit in so should be able to stretch the budget.

Just had a mini blitz - took rubbish out, washed up, shredded paperwork.

Still to do: wipe sides down - meal plan - expenses

Ahh, I know that one well ! It's only the weight loss efforts that stop me from picking up the phone to the kebab house some nights ! :o

Re: contacts, I've been looking into ordering them online - much cheaper but not sure how reliable/safe it would be. I shall have to delve a bit deeper I think.

It's good you're still keeping a total of spends :T

  • Well expenses done - 189 due next week for dec

Did make tortilla (sp) wraps but forgot I bought some with me and bought a bagette !

Went into town to look at staff loan which would 1 be cheaper and 2 lower costs to enable me to save for a deposit or overpay if so desired. Downside need to wait a couple of months beofre they will accept me. Good side should have paid 800 at least off by then so either smallet loan or higher savings subject to APR offered.

    Spends today

£10 shoe reheal so thats the £10 clothing budget spent
    £1 shampoo and £1 choc (3 bars for a £1)
    £1.60 parking
    and £2.90 lunch

    Will update budget later.

  • Hi KP. Will you need to use your expenses to see you through this month or can you use it to pay off debt?

  • At the moment I am trying to stick to the agreed budget as expenses can get confusing. This months spends I am ignoring what I can claim back next month. Will need to check bank later to see what I truly have left. I have worked to this before and keep falling off hence the new approach with set budget even if first month no gone quite to plan! I am though saving the annual spends such as presents and haircuts in the savings account though so I can take £10 out for the shoe repair.
