Its a cracker of an idea if you have bean bag furniture but a standard 3 peice suite you'd have to have a large tent, I advise you to draw the curtains! sheild the neighbours looks and OH embarrassment!Panda xx

LOL I thought I'd scared everyone off. Thanks for the laughs. I've just been hunting down a tent and can't seem to find one reduced. Been to Asda, Lidl, Aldi, Netto (not in my area) and Woolies but I've come up empty handed.0

Sorry for being mundane .... but duvets were designed to achieve just that objective of retaining body heat? And making tents in there is permissible ... but only if the OH is there as well:DIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Ok last resort I'm trying E-Bay for a bargain tent!0

I'd agree with the four poster bed idea, after all that's how they originated. Traditionally they had very heavy lined drapes which were drawn to retain heat.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Before four-poster beds, boxed beds were popular - particularly in very cold areas like Scottish crofts. Effectively, a bed in a cupboard. Get inside, slide the doors closed - cushdy!! I could definitely go for one of those, but it'd have to be a mighty big cupboard, considering it'd need to take me, OH, DS a greyhound and a saluki. Knowing my luck, the guinea pig and the parrots would want in on the action, too. :rotfl::hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0

wasnt that the idea of box beds long ago, think thats what they were called, i remember my gran and grandad had one in the livingroom, it was like a recess with a bed in, then you pulled a curtain across, i was in there when i had measles, very cosy it was0

If this is what we have to do - sell the house and buy a camper van - not many bills and smaller to heat I think - not much room for clutter and easy to clean - the best choice. Personally I will keep my house and not erect a tent in it - defeats the object of having a house I would think but some will obviously love it. Personal choice this one.
I sleep at night with my window open and still have the summer duvet on - not really cold when you are in bed at all - must have the wrong covers if cold.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0 -
I'm hopefully having the smallest bills ever for the winter, as I am off to Florida for three months from 1 November:D I will just have the heating on low for an hour in the morning.:j :jTo Dare is To Do:beer:0
