Using a branded (orange) Android phone on other networks

  • I have a Nokia 5230 and whilst a good phone, the Apps are useless, nad I find the map connections worse than awful.

If I trade that in, it would cost me £50 to change.....would it be worth it?

Depend upon what you change it for and what £50 means to you ,

  • Yes, daft post, to a degree!

The phone is the Orange San Francisco, and I want a decent, reliable 'iphone' clone, that can pick up mapping in an instant, and connect to apps quickly, unlike the Nokia.

    I've got a San Francisco.

It's no iphone, but for £99 I don't think you can go wrong. It was easily unlocked for free there is a couple of settings to change (i think its called ams) to get the internet and the texts to work

It's a good £99 phone. I would guess not as polished as others like the sony x10 and htc wildfire but then they are both £50 more expensive

I only bought the phone to play about with android but i'm happy with it.

The battery live could be better, but then I think some of the orange apps are eating that. Once you 'jailbreak' it (also very easily done) you can tune everything the way you want it

If you do buy it remember to go via one of the cashback sites. I got £12 back making it under £99 in resulting cost
