ditto for me on exchange- happened yesterday for us. we still don't know where we'll be moving to though ! Am dreading renting to be honest"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

Goldbyron - have you got much snow where you are? We've had some this morning, but it seems to have mostly gone now, although there are a few flakes still coming down. My daughter keeps hoping for more snow and she's really excited about it (and normally I would be too), but like you I'm nervous about how we'll move if we get serious snow.

Good luck Grimbal, I sympathise. At one stage we were contemplating renting when our purchase didn't look very secure, and I have to admit I wasn't keen on the idea.

Hi Xtratime, they shouldn't take that long if the mortgage provider has all the info they need. We applied one day (initial mortgage we did), survery booked two days later, offer through same week; Bro's was also done within one week. I know some mortgage companies are more pernickerty and dire than others...who are you trying to get a mortgage through and have you given them everything they've asked for? Do some chasing and try and get it pushed through?
Good luck..

I have chased today but the lady is on hols today and nobody else seemed to be able to help. Hopefully have some news tomorrow. Sent cheque last week for them to type up my homebuyers valuation onto there own paper (£135 shocking - I would of typed it up for £100 :-))
Its with YBS and I am only porting over the same amount from one house to another which you would think would be so easy - oh no - I had to prove who i was etc as if a new person.0 -

Boo, what a pain...fingers crossed for some positive news tomorrow. No wonder why house buying/selling is so stressful - relatively simple matters turn into goliath battles!!
