  • Many congratulations Annie! Given how long it can take to conceive, especially as an older mum, it certainly sounds as if the heavens are smiling on you. :)

Cranky - If I were in your shoes I'd be writing a formal letter to the school explaining that, as discussed, my son suffers badly from reflux and cannot eat the fruit without first eating some dry Wheatabix. I would then state that I intend to take this further and would like them to please state, in writing, exactly why they will not allow him to do this and are forcing him instead to undergo the pain and distress of the reflux/to go without a snack (whichever is the case). If they do respond instead of backtracking VERY quickly, I would take it to the headteacher/Local Authority/Local MP/Newspaper in that order (not all at once) until I got the result I wanted. They have no right to (a) make your child suffer or (b) rule out a perfectly healthy solution.

    ---

I'm relieved to have the internet back. They took it down last night when I was up with DS until after 4am (1am-6am 'planned maintenance' that they never informed us about...) I really hope we can get him back to a more normal sleep schedule when DH is off work for a week soon on holiday. We'll have to miss Rhymetime today at the local library because he's up too late to make it there. We just don't get out to do things when he's up so late into the small hours and then sleeping into the afternoon. I suppose I'm lucky in that he does SLEEP for at least 10 hours most nights, it's just WHEN he sleeps that is driving me crazy!
  • Kitcaboodle, I'm sure she'll be back later to update properly herself, but Cranky got it all sorted out at the school, the teacher seems to have "misinterpreted" the policy :)

To speed up the defrosting you can out them in the sink & just cover them with cold water (you might have to weigh them down) they should defrost in about an hour or so.
  • Dollydaydream you'll probably find your biscuits are simply a bit crumblier or lighter in texture. If your recipe includes baking powder or bicarb then don't bother adding it. :) I use self reaising flour a lot for biscuits.
