Oh gailey, that sounds rough hope you are all feeling better soon.

Kidcat do you have big recycling bins at the local supermarket or carpark? - They sometimes take different thing to the collection ones and may be ok with shredded paper. We can check on our local council website where they are and what they will take. Failing that how about a crafty project with the kids and make your own paper? I'm sure there would be a website you can google with instructions but you can do it with cobbled together bits and pieces of the type I'm sure most OS hoardy types have knocking about somewhere anyway. It's good fun (can be a bit wet and messy but don't the LOs like like sort of thing ;)) and also a good demonstration of how recycling works.

If you are planning any hampers for Christmas gifts, shredded paper makes a good base to bulk out and raise the goodies to the top. If it doesn't look to your taste, you can always lay some tissue/wrapping paper over it

    Hello Everyone

Gailey hope you all feel better soon.

(((hugs) )) to anyone who is ill or struggling or who would like one......

Wet and miserable here today (again!) but that wind has died down-haven't dared look at the roof yet!

Still decorating, only DS's bedroom left which has just been skimmed and drying-he is on the pull out bed in the sitting room. Every conversation in this house at the moment starts with "have you seen my...." as the contents of his bedroom is all over the house. The plasterer who is also decorating hall and stairs is full of OS decorating tips to save money. Bless him and thanks as he is saving us money.

We have decided just to refurb bathroom with new tiles and plaster and chrome bits for bath and loo etc so he is doing that next week. Just have to apply topcoat to kitchen and buy tiles.....another weekend of decorating looms.

It is all happening at work as learners are finishing their NVQ's by the end of term too-I have really bitten off more than I can chew as it's stressfull on both places but the exra hours at work means more money. Has anyone else found vegetable really expensive atm? Must go to the new L**l but OH doesn't like it as no baskets! do you find vegetable cheaper there? I like to support my local shops but 89p for a cauli is a bit dear-changed last nights tea from toad in the hole to cauliflower and broccoli cheese as OH had been to dentist and needed something soft.

Take care everyone and have a nice weekend.

Gintot - I find both Aldi and Lidl are very much cheaper for fruit and veg, especially if you buy their offers each week.
  • Ta kidcat will go along and see.

kidkat if you have a garden you can dig a hole and bury the paper. It disappears really quickly.
  • Hello all

FINALLY SOME LUCK FOR SAMMY KAYE!!!!!

I think Im on the lower end of hyperventilating now although an hour ago I thought I was about to pass out.

I have had some luck again. :D and just wanted to share with you all.

A nice man from itv has phoned me and said I answered a question correctly on the family fortunes game and won a cash prize and a games bundle.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

So I ran for a pen and my prize breakdown is

    £5K cash!
    A 37" TV
An XBOX360 and Kinect with 2 games
    A DSi with 1 game.

Am absolutely beside myself. Rang Owen hysterical and he didn't believe me until I swore on the kids lives - which I NEVER do - and now hes landed.
Told him we will be debt free for Christmas. Between us we owe about £2,600 so will get rid of that and told him I want the rest put into my credit union savings account.

I've been losing sleep over Christmas and never expected any good luck to come my way but am so relieved now - that will make a huge difference to us. I know its not a fortune but it means no more debt payments going out so we will be £300 better off a month now!
    Time to find me again
