well the big day is here. I don't no whether to watch is as it unfolds or to just wait for the bullet points:o Then get incredibly drunk and cry into my beer. I'll feel better once I know what I have to deal with.
Re EMA - when I went to college (many many moons ago) we did'nt have EMA, but I had 2 weekend jobs to get me through. Mny of the people on the course sis'nt have to do that (it was the first time that I really came across the have and have not@s in life) I really envied the way that they were able to get all that they needed and wanted to suceed on the course. I also experienced a lot of critisism because I ws not able to fund the extra curicular bits (ie frequent theatre trips etc) was made to feel like !!!!!!. Plus there was a very distinct favouratism made towds those who had. It really messed my mind and course up. Ended up feeling so miserble, failed a levels and lost my sense of direction. Plus this was in the early 80's so it ws a very bad time for all then. Still makes me feel very angry and sad even now.
So much has happened on the thread tht I've lost trck of who needs hugs and who needs :T:T. So I send virtul hugs and:T to all that need them:D
Sammy - If you have'nt got one it may help enomously if you can get dehumidifier. We had simlar probs in my current home (now resolved because of double glazing and central heating and cavity wall insulation) and it really helped alot:D
ceridwin - as a fully paid up member of the tin foil hat brigde a see where your coming from, maybe we need to set up a secret thread to discuss such issues. thought of the day, when does a conspiracy theory become conspiracy fact:cool:(you no what I mean:D)
Money saving, went to Trago yesterday and bought 2 beef joints rolled in pepper for £4:T and a big bg of large sausages for £6:T should keep us going for some time.
sorry seem to be having some probs with my 'a' today (and spelling in general:))
TTFNThe problem with common sense is its not very common:rotfl:
How do you climb Mount Everest? One step at a time0 -
Morning! not had much chance to post lately as have had altered work hours - more days at work but shorter hours - 80 miles a month more petrol to find too but I'm happy to have a job that I love.
DH is a milkman and I can see that it is one area where people will be making cutbacks out of neccesity but we shall just have to see what happens. At least we are now debt free which is a huge weight off our shoulders now.
Our main worry is DS1 who lost his job a while back and has a large overdraft to pay off. He's been doing a radio show but it doesn't pay anything other than expenses but is good experience etc. He's just admitted he's going to have to give it up and find a proper job now.
He's got an interview this morning for a 3 month contract covering sick leave so fingers crossed for him please! if he gets it it may well lead to more work eventually.
(((hugs))) to sammy, jojo and everyone else who needs one x
All the best to your son for this morning's interview!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

hellsbells, you are probably closeish to me geographically, i'm in Plymouth now but lived in Liskeard for years.
Sent Mum to Trago last week for lamb shanks & pork hocks, they didn't have any hocks though. Which is a shame as they are usually 1/2 the price of the supermarkets.0 -

When the licence was half the price the TV was twice as good.
Less was really more then.0 -

DD has a day off from uni today so she will have the spending review on tv all day no doubt (she is studying politics at uni)...if i were in on my own today i think i would prefer it in bullet point format instead of watching it for hours on end and seething with anger at Mr O's cuts
Just thinking about it is making my blood boil. A government we the British public did not elect and is thoroughly (despite the Lib Dems allience with them) Conservative to the core, will continue to marginalise the impoverished while allowing the nations rich to rub their sweaty palms together in glee that they shall remain in their privilidged position with nary a whiff of discomfort for them.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

! Most politicians of every party seem to be self interested and egotistical.
And there you have it.......they don't give a flying **** about the worry and misery their b@lls-ups cause.
Have they ever walked 1½ miles every day to buy food from a shop that's selling a particular grocery you need to feed your family because it's 50p cheaper than it is anywhere else? Because that's the only way you can afford to provide good meals? Of course they haven't.
Do they have to juggle the food budget so that they can afford to pay for this months inhalers? Of course they don't
Have they ever had to be carer for their child who is seriously ill, but find their not entitled to carers allowance because their child is only on low band DLA, but also can't claim JSA because they're not available for full time work because they're caring for their ill child? Of course they haven't
Have they not had a holiday in any way shape or form for over 10 years? Of course they haven't
That's just me, and I know there are thousands much worse off than myself. It's not acceptable, and there should be protests, strikes and hell, maybe even riots too. But will there be? Unlikely - we're too busy being polite and servile.
All politicians are "playing a game" every day and wouldn't know what real life and real hardship is all about if it jumped up and bit them in the a*se!Aug11 £193.29/£240

We had bottom of the fridge veg (carrots, peppers, courgettes and onions) roast in the remoska tonight with salmon and prawn in foil parcels cooked over the top of them, so fuel saving and very nice. Tomorrow will be vege soya mince bolognaise and pasta - very cheap meal. Have put in an order to bb foods for baked beans, stir fry sauce and various cake/bread mixes - very cheap, also ordered from AF a parcel for my sister as I do worry about her. She loves the surprise element - like Christmas.
Chin up friends! We will get through this! (((hugs)))

mama67 - linky to big brand foods thread. Basically they seem to be another 'approved foods' type company. Just debating whether to order myself........ but running out of space!!0 -
Big Brands for Less - a bit like Approved foods selling food past its best before but safe to eat. I have ordered 30 tins of baked beans for £2 :j Also tons of baking goodies. Not sure where to put it all though!
Thank you cat! I can never get the hang of doing links!
Still very cold here, just had to bath the dog as well as she came home a right mess from her walk. Hope I can get her dry soon as softie that I am I have put the heating back on for her!:rotfl:Getting my washing onto the rads while I can though! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Woke up in a bad mood, and to top it all I had to go to Mr T's to do a "big" shop. (I hate it)
They didn't have some of the stuff I wanted, so I was in a stinking mood when I got back, and I actually told the freezer to "eff off" when it wouldn't let me put everything in it!
Have to make some jam and get rid of all those frozen gooseberries...or a crumble...hmmmmm0
