Hi,
I am hoping to move by xmas, i'm doing a mutual exchange from crawley west sussex to south west london, i was just wondering if anyone knew how removal costs are worked out?
I know i'll need to phone up for a proper estimate but was just wondering what the rough price for relocating from a 2 bed house?
Also does anyone know of any decent priced companies.
TIA xx

I am paying £300, but it depends on how far you are going, different areas will be different and also hoe much stuff you have!Pawpurrs x

Hi Astonsmummy, why not phone around for a few quotes and see if one comes out more reasonable than the others?

Have you thought of hiring a van and driving it yourself or getting a friend to drive it for you.
A luton with a tail lift costs about £75 all in and a 7.5 ton box with a tail lift is about £112 for 24 hours.
There is a deposit but its refundable so long as you dont damage the vehicle.
Might be worth thinking about.0 -
Hiya, i think i may just do this, i have a 2 bed house but not much furniture. Do you need an HGV licence to drive a 7.5 ton? dont want to get a luton and it be too small! xxChrissieI wrote:Have you thought of hiring a van and driving it yourself or getting a friend to drive it for you.

We are hiring a van and are doing the removals ourselves but I was looking on here http://www.reallymoving.com/ before we decided what we were going to do, they had some reasonable priced companies on there but still too expensive for our liking hence doing it ourself. Good luck0

If you passed your driving test before December 1996 you should be able to drive a 7.5 ton box. This was about the time the rules were changed.
If you take a look at your licence it will tell you if you can drive it or not.0 -
I run a removal company in Berkshire, and the move you have in mind sould cost about £400 - £500 + VAT.0
