Everyone us different so it is down to personal choice what you decide either way the place is well worth it.

That's the main point. For some people a trip to NYC is the trip of a lifetime and if paying extra for a package which gives them peace of mind and helps them enjoy their holiday - then who are we to criticise?

However,I and many others feel that flying to New York is no more risky than getting the train to London for the weekend. It's a trip that hundreds of thousands do every year without anything going wrong. Major airlines aren't going to go bust and hotel reservations can be changed until the day before arrival.

Personalty, I'd be more worried about the hassles of a tour operator going bust than any problems with booking directly with a major airline and established hotel. I also find that working out all of the flight options, hotels and transfers myself is half the fun of planning a trip (maybe I would have become a travel agent in another life)

    Poor chap
    He's a troll

Check out his post count v his thanks-nuff said

(Not sure why offering help to others with kids with the same disability as my own is attention seeking- but hey he's a bit odd anyway)

How sad it must be if you consider how many times you get thanked on here as some sort of achievement.
Here's me thinking it was a forum designed for people to swap tips with each other on travel and saving money - not constantly seeking approval as well as attention.
Although as you have not provided a single piece of information to help the OP this doesn't surprise me.

I don't see any real risk on a New York package so long as you use common sense and pay with a card that has protection (usually a creditcard but some debit cards too)

I'm sifting through the travel into Manhattan options at the moment as I'm travelling with friends on a low hotel budget -Jersey City was looking a good option but I've just had a conversation with a NJ friend who is saying she thinks it's dangerous. I'm wondering if it really is or if like the people who live in Surbition and consider going to Brixton or Hoxton taking their lives in their hands she's not been realistic ? ;)

I'm a city girl and have travelled solo all over but travelling with American friends who aren'tso streetwise but no-one will be commuting alone so I can't see it been an issue. Would appreciate feedback from people who've actually done it rather than assumptions please :)

Honey you don't attract anyone - to attract people you need by definition to have at least one attractive quality

    " Honey " - how very American.
No doubt you have your baseball cap on back to front and are high-fiving like a gimp as we speak.
    Have a nice day.;)

    Good for you
We all have different comfort levels and shouldn't be bulied or intimidated by twits who "think" they know better when they know nothing about you and your specific requirements.

If you want the security of a package and would rather pay a bit more for that peace of mind -you're an adult -and free to make the informed choice that is right for you . Money Saving isn't always the best way as Crowns customers found out. Sometimes caution is a good thing.

Thanks for that - never a more true word spoken - peace of mind definitely goes a lot further these days! Actually I've done a lot of research into the whole thing just wanted to pick brains on any other ideas and seems I've got it covered :T

    Unbelievable.

I thought the same - perhaps you should refer to your comments when replying to my previous postings -particularly relating to Ryanair.

You cannot accept anything that does not conform to your 'wisdom' and when your arguments have been blown out of the water - you turn to petty and childish responses.

I totally agree with your quote I have highlighted above - but when you cannot adhere to your own statement - then it is meaningless really. Practice what you preach 'old fruit'!

I can paste and copy previous postings by you that shows how you have not 'provided a single piece of information' to help an OP.

Example on this thread on helping the OP
    " Honey " - how very American.
No doubt you have your baseball cap on back to front and are high-fiving like a gimp as we speak.

Very puerile - a perfect example on how to' help' the OP!
