    Please don't feed the troll.

Nobjocki will also tell you that you that travel insurance is a waste of money!

I'm not sure if you're being deliberately provocative or are just dim.

I suspect the latter as anyone with any real experience of travelling to New York will tell you that booking it independently rather than as a package is not only as safe but cheaper.

And that after all is the point of this forum rather than engaging in infantile posts which just expose you as being a bit of a knuckle-dragger.

Nobjocki, you can't be surprised that your posts may not be taken seriously after your advice that travel insurance is a waste of money.

My views on travel insurance are my opinion and I've made it clear many times it is a matter of choice - but the OP was after genuine advice which I was happy to give.

Perhaps people should spend less time trying to score points in a pathetic attempt at attention-seeking and instead deal in facts.

Interestingly I often find those posters with an inane signature to be the dumbest of the lot - it's the classic " look at me, look at me " syndrome.

Why don't you try a company like Trailfinders? They put it all together for you but its treated as a package.

I have used them twice for Thailand holidays, i think the small % I would of saved doing it independantly was not worth the extra possible stress of all of the searching and quoting, falling foul of any dodgy websites, smallprint terms etc.

Enjoy New York I loved it - Stayed at the Casablanca, maybe not what your looking for but ticked every box for me!
Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!
  • You could also try Thomson Tailormade it's part of the TUI group but a different website to thomson. It offers ATOL protection but not ABTA.

Hotels in New York can be cancelled at 24 hours notice , routes to New York are never pulled as they're among the most lucrative, heavy snowfall rarely blocks airports on the Eastern seaboard for very long, I can't recall the last time a transatlantic airline went bust, volcanic ash is an extremely rare occurrence.

Anyone who feels the need to book a package to New York is timid and rather foolish as it will end up costing them much more than they will ever lose.
Thanks for that, timid definitely - true the world might end tomorrow but I need this to be as safe a booking as possible.

    Good for you
We all have different comfort levels and shouldn't be bulied or intimidated by twits who "think" they know better when they know nothing about you and your specific requirements.

If you want the security of a package and would rather pay a bit more for that peace of mind -you're an adult -and free to make the informed choice that is right for you . Money Saving isn't always the best way as Crowns customers found out. Sometimes caution is a good thing.
