iPhone 3GS/O2 signal problems - anything I can do?

Just wondering if there is anything I can do about this? I've had an iPhone 3GS for nearly a year now, so it's currently still within warranty but not for much longer. For the last couple of months I've had quite a few signal issues with O2 and it seems to be getting worse  Have never had any problems with O2's signal before but it's starting to annoy me as it's mainly affecting the signal in my house.

For example, right now I currently have a text message stuck on the "Sending...." bar despite sending another text message after it (but to a different person) which has sent. Also about 10 minutes ago I was left a Voicemail by someone despite the phone not ringing (so obviously went directly to Voicemail) and when I picked the phone up it had 3 signal bars. My boyfriend complains that everytime he tries to call me it goes directly to my voicemail also.

Should I speak to O2 about this or is it a problem with the phone itself? Unfortunately, no one else in my house is with O2 and so I can't check if they have signal problems. I believe that even if I do take it up with O2 they won't really give a stuff and so nothing they can do. Should I take it to an Apple store to look at? If so, what will they most likely do/suggest? I know I'd have to do this before the warranty runs out.

Thanks!

    Hi

I would recommend that you call customer service. They'll be able to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem. These are likely to revolve around where the problem occurs, i.e. is it just in one place, or more than one? They'll also ask about friends and family on O2.

They may suggest replacing your SIM card to eliminate that as a possible cause. After that, you may need to visit an Apple or O2 store to have your phone assessed and possibly sent for repair. As you've mentioned though, remain mindful of your warranty expiry.

If we've had a number of calls from your area, they may raise it as a potential network issue and ask our engineers to investigate.

    Thanks
