Bitsy, have you tried the Country Markets wing of the women's institute? We have a little market round the corner and it's really popular, sells all kinds of stuff!

  • Bitsy, have you looked at http://www.stallfinder.com/ You can search by area, date, etc. This site also has fairs listed by date http://www.craft-fair.co.uk/Diary.cfm

Good luck with the fairs. Personally I find them very much hit and miss but they should be good in the run up to Christmas. I hope you don't have many PPP customers. You know the ones: pick up, put down and push off! You need to link your FB page to your user name. I'm having a giveaway when I get to 250 likers ;)

What type of craft? There's a good fabric shop in the town centre practically opposite The Corn Exchange. Can't remember the name. It's not on the actual main road, but at the back of the block, behind the wholefood shop/cafe.

    Samuel Taylor's in fact.
There are a couple of haberdashers just inside the market and a button shop further in. Up in the Merrion Centre is a craft shop but it's not terribly good.
I think we are a bit short of good craft shops in Leeds, I presume the rent & rates are too high in the centre.

thanks for those websites - I'd tried a general Google search and turned up nothing.
A local-ish school is having a table top sale in the run up to Christmas so am looking to book myself a table and it's only £4 if you pre book. the community centre at the end of my road charges £8

fantasia - I have no objection to you posting my FB link on the othersite, would do it myself if I could get on there :o:(

tellmeitsfriday - well I confess a number of my ideas have come from Flyingpigs thread - she's a mine of ideas and information :D

Its my birthday in March and I am asking for money from everyone as I want to get a Sizzix Big Shot die cutter - I think they help enormously with producing quality products that are hand made rather than looking home made IYSWIM. Couldn't justify the cost after what I've spent so far so birthday pressie it will have to be. Now just need a house big enough to fit all this into! Claire I may be following you in the house move stakes at this rate. I sooooooo need a craft room

Good luck to MG and hope everyone has a great time in Leeds :D

Claire - Hope your bottom is feeling better soon xxx

Wishing you all a positive day today - I am off to a Christmas fair later, just to check things out so hope to see some bargains :D

  • Sending positive vibes to Claire for her farmer's market stall.

Well Leeds should be underway by now - I'd so love to be a fly on the wall - can't wait to hear all about it.

Hope someone pops in at lunch-time to give us an update.

Need to get a wriggle on,

Positive vibes going out to MG and the Leeds Matrix Members, Claire for her farmers Market, Bitsy for her new entrepeneurial (spelling ) enterprise and Winky that everything flows wit her loverly, calm water birth, (and that the pre-eclamptic symptoms settle down). ;)

Edit to say i have emails from admin on the other forum and its changed (matirx board been moved) and even though I followed the instructions it wont let me in _ and admins in Leeds today. Oh well be sorted at some point.
