Well - wth all the actvity on this thread we were not exactly "under the radar" - LOL

I think I have some god news - I think my friend has got the bit between her teeth and has gone home with the Leeds call sheet.

Her "self set" target is to fill the room by next Friday.

She has all the rght skills, takes no prisoners - never allows me to play the victim - always challenges me ................. and most importantly the kids adore her.

She has even offered to have the boys If Grandma can't when I am working.

............ and she wants to work partly at home and partly together, sothe best of both worlds.

So now we nned to sort out some KPI's and get rolling.

I love he Universe today - despite the crappy new this morning.

MG Do you have any idea about how many children would be available to the school if the right staff were in place ? Love your friends idea, but that is the future and won't solve the current situation. Can the Montessori bods help out in any way:http://www.montessori.org.uk/

We work through www.monetssori-ami.org but I am sure they would be very supportive -after all we are the only school that takes beyond 6 yrs.

To let you know my DS1 is doing work that my friends 14 year old is doing, and he's just 10 and thriving.

Also the teachers we have have said they want to offer an "all year- all day" service. So the school is open from 8 am - 6pm all year apart from Xmas week. You choose when your children attend and when they have holidays - and can opt in to the wrap-around care.

That's got to be attractive to the parents too?

I wonder if the matrix has 8 people living close enough to me to meet regularily? That would be really motivating :D

    MG

Is Edinburgh close enough? :hello: Though I've a feeling you'd be the one motivating me... :o:p

Good luck with the school... sounds very complicated. Grrr to the HTH still causing trouble! :(

Just in case anyone is thinking that The Secret and the Matrix do not work... I have just had a meeting with my tame Pro Vice Chancellor of the University where I work. He is the senior PVC and when the VC is off, my guy does all the high profile stuff...so he is very high up and a little scary. Gulp.

At the end of our meeting, which was calm and serene even though we had been discussing lots of high level topics and at one point I told him right out that he was wrong (and then persuaded him that I was right!) he says to me "Clare, I have noticed you have an air of calm authority about you at the moment. It has been developing for the last 5 to 6 weeks. It is most impressive. Do keep it up." :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

At least I am not scary anymore!! :D:D:D:D:D

I went over to the Orphanage this morning and attended a special meeting. The women of the township of Katlahong now have a co-operative. :D
It is exactly like the matrix but in physical form.
Women are being encouraged to start their own businesses (hair-dressing, sewing, car mechanics were some mentioned) and the co-operative provides support, they even have plans for some sort of credit union!
My only contribution (apart from Popeye's birthday party to launch the web-site/raise the profile) was to question the decision to have little co-ops and not mix the different groups. I said they would be surprised how thinking laterally and mixing the different skills would help - my example was that that the car mechanics might service the sewing machines.....
And I told them how the different skills in the matrix had launched K4K, shortly after I'd protested that I had nothing to offer the matrix :rotfl:
So now there is a more cumbersome organisation with smaller "chapters" and representatives of each meeting together, and an overall board
Ho hum, and I thought I'd be bored here ;)

Now thats what 'm talking about!!!!!
