I'm another one affected by the increase in retirement age (I'm 54) and I'm mad about it too! And I also walked out of my job last January, but I took early retirement which along with a widows pension is just enough to live on. Trouble is like a few others on here I have absolutely no idea what to do with the rest of my life, I just knew what I had been doing for the last 21 years wasn't what I wanted to do any longer.
But you are an inspiring bunch and I'm hoping some inspiration will rub off on me
(so forgive me for lurking)

Funnily I'm not really bothered by the increase in retirement age. What will be will be is how I see it. But I want some control over how I fill in the time in between now and then.I'm another one affected by the increase in retirement age (I'm 54) and I'm mad about it too! What to do.....................?
I don't need to lose weight have always been sort of size 10/12 even size 8 when I was overworking lol so maybe just need to tne up a little.
My list of wants is erm erm erm.
Should be my list of needs not wants.
What I have is a lovely family.
The man of my dreams, the actual One who came along a few years ago.
A home, a job, a couple of loopy dogs and an African grey parrot.
But I want joy, a singing heart, fulfilment.
Satisfaction that I have done something useful.
I'm not interested in climbing Mount Everest, just to achieve............................something..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
To stop being indecisive, to stop hiding behind excuses, to gain a little courage. Not to be afraid of challenges, oh the list goes on.............. if you see what I'm getting at.0 -
By being inspired by peeps on this thread I am going to start 69 day challenge on 15 December (after my December exams and before I need to start preparing for the next lot in June).
At the moment the list looks like this:
- Drop 2 dress sizes
- Get organised i.e. be on top of cleaning, paperwork and mealplanning
- Make a realistic plan on selling stuff that I have (needlecraft stuff and books) and then implement it
- Make friends that feel comfortable to pop around and put the kettle on
