Cheaper Oil for Fuel?
Comments

This may not be the right place, but as we are all on oil heating and I have posted many times here before wondered what you thought about bio fuel
At our over fifties club yesterday there was a notice on the board saying heating oil was 40p a litre, this is reconditioned oil similar to what they use in diesel cars.
However, they say it is cleaner than kerosene and work perfectly well in domestic boilers, may ask our boiler chap what he thinks, but if anyone is interested in this or has tried it please can you let me know, many thanks
A saving of around fifteen pence a litre is not to be sniffed at, on the other hand a wrecked boiler would not do either:rotfl:
Not sure.. I know I looked into a while back but was waiting for an official oftec announcement.. Have to say though it took so long I forgot all about it. Check their website to see if they have approved it. I am sure they would have by now?0 -
This stuff (FAME) is biodiesel by another name, isn't it? ,,, so how can it be cheaper than kerosene? Maybe it will be subsidised, which will mean even greater demand for WVO, so even higher prices.
Because of the price and difficulty obtaining WVO, many biodiesel makers have stopped producing already.Maybe it's just me0 -
Hi all, just moved into a house just outside Diss, Norfolk, that is oil heating. This is all new to me and I will need to fill up the tank soon as it is only a third full. Have been on boilerjuice and can get 500 litres for 59.12 per litre. Does this seem reasonable? Also can anyone recommend local suppliers? Thanks for any help you can give.0

Go to www.yell.com
search "heating oil fuel distributors and suppliers" in Diss.0 -

Avoid non competitive "boilerjuice.com".
Invest in some Saturday morning phone calls and ring round; many will ask what you've been quoted already, and you may accidentally drop price by a penny or two:o
Many people have free calls at weekend too, so no ££0 -
You don't avoid boilerjuice, that's just daft advice. You use the price they give and try to get it beaten. I rang all my local companies and they couldn't beat it, so BJ got the business.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

Thanks for all your replies, I'll do some ringing around and see what they quote. :beer:0
