I've had a busy week so far.

DD and I had a great day as part of national Play day yesterday at Killhope museum. She paid for me and the children were free. She is a childminder now. I looked after DGD to make things a bit easier for DD with the other two children. Mr P collected me at 2pm so I could get to knit and natter.

I have 27 items listed on ebay and have lots more I will add next time I am offered extra free listings. All the things I put on turbolister were lost so I had to start again :(

I sold one item last week so £5 more in my paypal kitty :) Someone has emailed to ask me to end a listing for a skirt early. I am not sure what to do as she has asked me to do 'buy it now'.

Still no HB for DS2. When he gets up, or if he gets up I will ask him to phone them again. He still won't give us permission to try to sort out his finances. I am waiting for a moment when I think it safe to ask him again. Last time I asked he said we were treating him like a child and also trying to make him feel worse. Obviously we are not, we are trying to help him because we love him. Depression is horrible.

Mr P now has tendonitis in his shoulder. He can't work but is doing bits and pieces around the house and garden. He isn't allowed to decorate which is a shame as I was going to suggest it for a wet day. We have lots of paint so I was hoping to start on the hall corridor. It gets knocked quite easily, I presume it has been knocked by men as it has a good few scuff marks. Thinking of things to do to make improvements which don't cost us anything.

We are continuing to have a busy time with the cottage. This month's residue will be used to pay some of the winter months bills.

Our finances are still very tight for personal money so I am concocting all sorts of cheap meals. Tonight we will be having veggie chill with jacket potatoes and salad greens from the garden.

Very little debt repayments this month but we have a kitchen loan which is listed in my signature. It must have gone down since the last statement last year As it is in Mr P's name I will ask him to phone them and ask for a statement today.

DS2 had an email saying he can't have HB because he isnt claiming anything. I rang council and spoke to a wonderful guy who has told me about DFS2's application and all he needs is a p45 from previous employer and then he can have it backdated if he has a letter from the doctor. :j:j:j:j:j

Thank you folks, I am mightily relieved about some things but still very concerned about DS2.

The positive points are that I spoke to DWP and got DS2 started on ESA. DS2 spoke to the guy and gave me permission, as I phoned to find out what was going on. They couldn't tell me if they had a previous application but have agreed, in principle, to repay ESA back to mid May.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

I then went back to HB and luckily I got the same guy I had already spoken to. I was able to tell him that DS2 had applied for ESA and he says they will back date to mid May too. :j:j:j:j:j

I got DS2 to the doctor who has prescribed anti-depressants again: he had some briefly in January but stopped taking them because he felt worse. I won't go into detail here, but it was VERY serious. On Thursday he was much worse, picked up a bit yesterday but is a bit worrying again today.

DS2 helped me by cleaning the cottage yesterday as DD was away. He says he will take me out on Tuesday. It seems to me he needs to have a purpose which takes his mind off things but it doesn't get rid of the depression. Good thing Mr P's head is in a good place atm :)

Because the weather has turned cold we have lit the wood burner in the living room in the evenings. We have an enormous pile of wood to keep us warm in this odd weather and it means we don't have to put the pellet boiler on yet. The wood was all given to us by people wanting rid of it :)

More good news :D I got a lovely coat for the winter from an old fashioned jumble sale in the village hall. There was no queuing outside before the doors opened and no fighting, it was all very civilised AND very cheap.

Some older people will remember the old jumble sales. I was always on the other side of the tables then, and even there was a scary place to be.

I also got two cardigans for DGD for 50p and a pile of melamine bowls and plates for £2. They can go in the cottage so people can take them on picnics. Lots of bargains :)

This week I have been feeling a bit more energised too so have cooked and cooked so I have a freezer full of meals to defrost when I have the next flare up. I have made 10 portions of shepherds pie, 25 portions of Bolognaise sauce and a ham broth, still needs to be put into dishes and frozen. Most things are in old take away dishes we have been given. I have put most in portions for three adults but some in fours for when DS3 is back.

I am still selling old clothes on ebay. Another £5 yesterday taking my total this month to £60. I am saving it to pay for wood pellets.:)

I haven't posted much recently as don't want to keep harping on about CD2's lack of finances. Which contribute to his state of mind. I have booked him onto a dig for next week. Just have to pray he is well enough to go.

This week I have had 4NSD but Mr P has had none. So some positive and some negative.

We have bought no food this week and can last another two weeks just buying fresh foods. I have gone back to monthly shopping as it saves such a lot of money. Any variations in our diet can come as whoopsies from the coop. Last week I found chicken portions for 75p.

I have rejoined the gym and intended on going 5 times a week for half an hour. I have managed twice so not a bad start. Another 2lbs lost too.

At the gym I just walk for 10 with breaks. I did 1.5 mins on cross trainer :D
    I won't be winning any prizes :D

We found loads of old herb seeds so have sowed 4 seed trays to try to have more of our own fresh herbs:in the garden we have spinach and courgette
    ready to eat.

Today's plan is to track down DS 2's P45, pay Mr P truck insurance, search for cheap garden plants (last night I did some online shopping but didn't complete purchase, just a dream, £179!) for winter and spring.

Some good news. I booked DS 2 onto a community archaeology dig for today. He got out of bed, made a packed lunch and off he went in his repaired car.:j:j:j:j

I hope he enjoys it. He needs a reason to get up in the mornings. He has spent the last three days in bed.

New lovely people have arrived at the cottage so everyone happy.
