    Get well soon.

I agree with mikeollington - your postings here are an inspiration to people who say they can't change their lives, or manage without their 'essentials'. It's amazing what CAN be done, and then you generously share your life on this site and discover a platoon of new friends, some equally challenged and seeking reassurance, some just marvelling at the resilience of the human spirit.

Thank you for your message. I do hope that by reading how we have managed on very little that others can do the same. It is possible to live on a lot less money than most people think. Food is more expensive now but by careful meal planning nothing is wasted and we are still healthy with low choleserol level.

We just heard that job DS2 applied for before we went away is still open. He has been asked to resubmit his CV.

And, we had someone who Mr P worked for a lot knocked on the door and asked him to do another job. Not a big heavy job so hopefully he can try to get back into work gently.

DS1 has asked us to post some things to him in Florida. He will have to wait until tomorrow when we should have some money in the bank.

hello Mrs happy, Thanks for your message. We are slowly getting there. I am only managing flying visits ATM too. Hope all is well with you xx

Today we went out to a local reservoir where DSs and DSIlL could mountain bike. Mr P and I and DD and DGD managed the pushchair trail, drank tea, did another short walk, drank more tea and ate our sandwiches ( made at home of course) And wandered around a very interesting visitor centre.

A beautiful day spent with amazing people and a cheap day too. DS3 took us in his new car so we didn't have to pay for petrol :)

Tonight I checked through bank statements from last three months. I became a bit lax when we had spare cash  Annoyed with myself. I found almost £300 which I spent on business expenses from our personal current account.

Just transferred it back from business account but will try to continue to live on as little as possible, as if it isn't in our account.

In February DD and DSIL bought us a voucher for M and S. Yesterday on our way home from DA's we called in and bought a few yellow sticker bargains for a special dinner treat for us all tomorrow.

It is a rare treat for us to buy anything from M and S or ready meals from anywhere else. It will save me putting the oven on and cooking us as well as the food. Our house is so well insulated once the heat is in it doesn't get out :D

Only spend today was to give DS3 £3 to get his new car cleaned as it was covered in tree pollen. Turned out that the car wash was broken. He can use a bucket and sponge tomorrow. And he has £3 to keep.

Yesterday was church and a trip to Mr M. I spent £31 and picked up some bargains. We can easily manage this week without spends on any more food. Put some change in the collection and gave DSIL £10 towards lunch for us all at Mr Ms.

Today was a cottage change over day. I had absolutely no energy and tried to look after DGD while DD cleaned. The idea was that I would get her some lunch and then settle her for some sleep. We managed neither but watched about 6 cbeebies programmes. I dozed off and she stayed awake. :D

Once the new cottage guests had arrived I sat in armchair and slept for another two hours. No idea why.

We had our M and S meal tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. It feels very decadent.

Back to DA's tomorrow to do some more clearing out with Mr P. he has been offered work and will start once we have DA's emptied.

    Another NSD :D

What a busy week so far! Tuesday we went back to DA's. Another £41 on petrol spent but no food shopping as we are trying to live from cupboards and freezer.

No spends yesterday but I spent £15 today on getting my nails sorted after the mess made of them in New York Eek!

I have been calling in on my ninety one yr old neighbour who has been left home alone while her daughter is away on holiday. She lives about half a mile away from us. I am trying to go to see her every day. The days I am at DA's I have tried to phone her instead.

The distribution of things from DA's has been quite complicated. Maybe I didn't do it properly as I am still having multiple requests for the same item. I tried to delete photos of things already taken but wasn't able to. Must be some way to do it. Today I have spent 1.5 hrs on phone to cousins as I said I was giving up on facebook for communicating via photos of items.

Out again tomorrow at DA's. Collecting 90yr old cousin who is coming to see what she would like as a keepsake of DA. :)

DA was loved by many :)

    £52 spent yesterday on petrol
    £43 at 4ldi on food

We had a chowder for supper last night. It was quite late, nearly 10pm by the time we ate.

I still have a lot of cupboards to empty at DA's but managed to get a company to try to sell the car for me. It has been difficult as the car is 55 miles away from home. Anyway I asked a company that is very local to DA and one that we used when I was a teenager. The owner lived a few houses from us. basically, I used him because I trust him as my dad trusted him. Hope I am right :D

Today we made some biscuits and DD cleaned the cottage ready for the next guests, then I sat and chatted with my newish next door neighbour while my boys watched sport.

A happy relaxing day. Finished off by DS2 making sausage, mash and onion gravy for dinner, yum.

Only spend today was £5 in collection at church.

Our £2000 grant was paid into our bank account for the wood pellet boiler yesterday :D
