How much to you spend on clothes per month?

I sometimes go through months where I buy nothing, then buy loads in the sale. I do though save up vouchers from surveys to add to my own cash or gifts and I think the most I can get away with, (any more and I have to starve to afford more!) is £150 in a month. I WISH I had more money to buy more clothes!! But added to that, my body shape changed alot in the last 2 years and I'm very unhappy about how clothes look on me now. I don't feel the same itch to own everything when I walk into stores now. One look in the mirror with it held up to me and I am cured!
I do though spend alot on hair and beauty. Much of what I get comes from ebay and I probably spend about £30 a month which I can ill afford! Makes me feel better though- sort of another type of downgrading of my spending!
Funny thing is I also WISH I had more money to spend :rotfl:I guess if I had the money I could easily spend, spend, spend!
I know what you about changing body shapes though. I try to always feel good about myself even when I put weight on, which of course sometimes happens. The truth is, that clothes do look better when you are at the best weight for your height and shape, but that doesn't mean that you can't look nice at any weight as long as you look after yourself and feel good about yourself0 -
Eep, probably about £400 or so a month :S
But that really is my only "thing". I don't smoke, or drink, and I'm really not that into make-up, so clothes and shoes are my only real spends apart from bills..And I can afford it with no problems, so I guess it's not too bad.
I have given up for a month though- hence my thread..Not for any particular reason other than the fact I have 5 wardrobes and many storage boxes full of things I haven't yet worn..And should do.0 -

See I completely get you with this... I had a friend who probably spent about £250 a month on cigarettes and booze (if not more) yet she could be known to make quite snidey remarks if anyone bought say a dress at £100? We all have different priorities I guess.
Lol at 5 wardrobes! My husband got so sick of my clothes all over he cleared out the spare room and it's now my dressing room- I knew there was a reason I married him :T

That;s why i have a 2bed flat..One is a wardrobe room!

I know it sounds like a shocking figure to say it like that, but I do think that since it comes totally from my disposablke income, after any bills etc, it's not too bad - it's not like i even own a credit or store card..and my weekly shoppinf is more than enough for me at about £15/week which includes any luxuries / cleaning / beauty products etc..0 -
I honestly don't know! It used to be virtually nothing but I've lost a LOT of weight which has meant gradually buying lots of stuff in smaller sizes and I've pretty much replaced my entire wardrobe over the course of the past year. It probably varies between £50 and £250, but I still don't like spending loads on clothes so most months it'll be at the lower end.0

I try not to buy any clothes as I have more than enough, but if I did want something I would only spend £30, £50 tops. I'm quite cheap to be honest
Even if I won the lottery I would struggle to spend more than £60 on a single item- and even then I'd expect a decent winter coat or leather shoes out of that money.
I have a walk in wardrobe I share with the boyfriend and I've used up all the space in it. My side of the rails is muscling in on his side! Plus we have a chest of drawers for my tops, skirts and accessories, handbags on the upper shelf and shoes stored underneath.
If I do desperately want something I have to get rid of something else, otherwise it just gets out of hand!0 -

Yes, like you clothes and make-up is my only thing to. I don't smoke, hardly drink, don't drive etc. However, I do want to make sure that I also save every month so that's why I set my clothes budget at £250 a month to spend freely without feeling guilty about it:). I do make sure that I wear all my things by trying different combinations and rotating my items.0 -
See, I don't seem to wear all my things..I am trying to clear out little by little, and also to make a conscious effort to wear those things i wouldn't usually pick out, at least once so that i can make a decision as to whether or not it's worth keeping them!0

I guess I spend about £200/ month but that's probably on 2 or 3 items. I don't have many clothes. I would rather have one item that I LOVE than 10 that are just ok.
Although I did used to have a major shoe problem, I am weaning myself off and sticking to one pair max per month.Saving for an early retirement!0
