How much to you spend on clothes per month?

I guess this is a question for the serious fashion lovers, not the super savers that only shop every few years;)
I love clothes and spend about £250 per month on average. However, this included shoes, underwear, cosmetics etc.

Now I can afford to spend this and will happily sacrifice other things to feed my shopping habit, but do just wonder where I am in the range of the average shopaholic?

Obviously depends on your disposable income etc but I am just courious to see if I am on the lower end of average spending on clothes or the higher end or bang in the middle?! Just nosy really how my clothes/make up etc habits compare to others that love shopping for clothes?

 I get a pair of jeans out of Matalan once every now and then.

I'd love to have £250 to spend on me a month, I'm soooo jealous. :D

Probably £100 month MAX... maybe that over 2 months as an average.

Normally I spend about 50.00 p/m on clothes.

Right now I am trying to sort out my winter clothes so that might go up but I am really in need of some good looking winter flat boots

God before we had a baby and other commitments I daren't even say how much I used to spend it shocks me now but we live and learn- I also used to make up for an upsetting past with buying things but that's another story.

Anyway now I'd say I don't have a monthly spend- some months I spend £5 other months I spend £500 but now I tend to buy classic pieces that last. In the past I would get a buzz out of clearing our Primark and now I prefer to spend £50 on a jumper that I know I'll wear for the next few years if that makes sense

  • Thank you all. I guess now that I have Winter boots (Aylithuk, try Clarks they have lovely boots in at the moment) and my Winter coat already I should be able to spend less, but I always see something I really like and if I think it looks good I'd just buy it.

I have never been able to resist a nice item of clothes or pretty accessories. I guess it's a bit like a hobby for me (not the shopping though just the clothes) and I do enjoy having my wardrobe full of nice things and I do try to rotate everything so I get a lot of wear out of everthing.

I'm trying to picture it, so please bear with me. How do you accommodate all the items, or do you have a clear out every now and again? I don't think I'm organized enough to manage that input of clothes (I'm fundamentally very lazy, and I know it!)

Yes, that makes sense, I am also over buying masses of clothes at Primark and rather spend a bit more on classic items etc. Now I usually only look in Primark for cheap basics. Again, £250 is about average, it may be a bit less some months and a lot more in others. Obviously Autum and Winter is always more expensive as there's all the winter gear to stay warm and prettily wrapped up:)

I have lots and lots of wardrobe space and storage boxes under my bed etc. That was a top priority for me whenI chose my wardrobes and chest of drawers:D

I am very organized but I do have a clear out on occassion, but not more than twice a year and I only get rid of things I really do not want to wear anymore.:)

    Thank you. That makes sense.
What do you do with the items that you're clearing out?
  • I don't think i've spent £250 in the last 10 years!

My Mrs would say...'yes, you can tell!'
