Motability Car

he must have entered his pin at the dealers before the car was ready ,as payments cannot be taken until you collect the car and enter the pin which is a digital signature to start payment from dla to mobility
Pin was entered last Saturday when we collected the car, we've had no contact with dealer since we ordered car in April and PIN was on letter in house so impossible for anyone to enter in dealership.0 -
DLA will cease paying the Mobility component as soon as you enter into a provisional agreement with the dealer. Any payments deducted between then and the date you collect the car will be refunded. Be warned however, this can take up to six weeks following collection of the vehicle.0

if this has happened this must be a mistake ? paper work says dla continues to be payed until pin is entered and spoke to woman at motabiity she said dla only goes to motability after the pin has been used and i have collected the car, garage also told me dla will continue to me untill collection dayDLA will cease paying the Mobility component as soon as you enter into a provisional agreement with the dealer. Nope. I work for DLA and the money gets deducted immediately and will be paid back once we receive the paperwork from Motability.0

I should add that the money will not actually be paid to Motability until the car is collected, but will be held in abeyance (therefore not paid to you). This is to avoid any overpayment.0

thanks for that info:beer:I should add that the money will not actually be paid to Motability until the car is collected, but will be held in abeyance (therefore not paid to you). This is to avoid any overpayment.
looks like im cancelling my car monday morning phoning dla complaining then getting my money sent to me again as my car will not be ready for over 3 months and i need the dla to run ins fuel my existing car , if this is right this is a poor show from dla and to use the excuse "overpayment" is just nonsence as the payment can easily be stoped from collection day, ill find out monday morning direct from dla, thanks again for the info0 -
You're welcome. Please do contact the Helpline (and if you get me I will be happy to help lol) and advise them that the car won't be ready for over three months. They will then pass this info onto the relevant section who will be able to make adjustments so you receive your Mobility payments in the meantime.
Unfortunately, when you enter into an agreement with the dealer they automatically send the info to Motability, and once the provisional date is entered on the system this stops payments.

Sorry being a bit thick
DlA is paid in arrears, right?
If that is the case and they do as you say and stop payments as soon as you order a car to avoid overpayment then if paying in arrears an overpayment could not occur.
This would surely only be the case if DLA were paying in advance. i.e if they paid you on the 11th in advance of the next four weeks and you pick up the car on the 12th then there would be an overpayment. But if it is as I understand it, payment in arrears and they pay you on the 11th and you pick up the car on the 12th its the next payment which would be affected.
I ordered a Motability car at the begining of September, received the motability paperwork dated the 16th Sep and still got my DLA on the 28th Sep. Have not received anything from them saying that my payments will stop until I receive the car - surely they have a legal right to inform you?0
