I have just received my 4 weekly dla payment but pick up my motability car Monday. they have paid the full amount but do they normally pay in advance or arrears as worried they may ask for part of it back if tey pay in advance and want to be prepared.

Hi,

DLA is paid 4 weekly in arrears.

So, it should not be a problem - your next payment should be reduced to take into account Motability.

Thanks Tally. Someone has said that when they transferred from the money to the car a few years ago they had to go to the job centre to sign a form to change the payment. I've not been told this, just told to input a code given by motability when i get the car. Anyone else had to go the job centre recently when changing from money to car?

My wife had her first car through the scheme almost 3 years ago. I am sure she had to sign a form to instruct job center to divert part of DLA to motabilty operations.

I am sure the dealer gave her the form. May be worth discussing with the dealer or motabilty themselves.

Stop worrying DLA and motability will sort each other out.
Enjoy the freedom and independence this car is going to give you.

I got my first motability car in November last year, never had to go anywhere apart from the dealership to choose and sort out the car paperwork.

The motability person you have at the dealership should be able to answer all your questions, give them a call, they will be happy to help you.

on the same topic I have just ordered my 1st car but it's going to take until end dec to get it. I take it that I will still get my mobility part of my DLA until that time even although I have already fillied in some of the paperwork when I ordered it. (did know new car took so long to get carless until Jan is no fun!!)

The mobility part of DLA will not be paid to motability until you have recieved your new car, - Enjoy

Hubby ordered car from motability and it was due to come in July.
Car was delayed and never arrived but mobility component was taken from his payments from August.
Finally picked up car last Saturday but still no refund of money owed, phoned helpline and was told it will be sorted out soon.

he must have entered his pin at the dealers before the car was ready ,as payments cannot be taken until you collect the car and enter the pin which is a digital signature to start payment from dla to mobility

what pin will the dla send me one when they get forma saying I have applied for a car. I do not see a pin on my award letter. newbie here!!!

motability will send you a pinafter the dealer has informed them that you wish to get a car, then you type the pin into the dealers computer when you collect the car this then works as a digital signature which is the contract between you and mobility
