Alliance & Leicester / Santander problem receiving BACS payments

Hi
I have been having problems receiving payments into my account with Santander.
My Alliance & Leicester sort code was 72-50-03
The new Santander sort code is 09-01-33
I updated my details with some of the mystery shopping companies I work for.
The ones which had the old sort code have been able to pay me fine.
A payment has gone missing which was made using the new details. Another company has contacted me to say that the new details cannot be validated.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Matthew

I take it no-one else has had problems then? (With their new sort code)0

Loads of problems with the 72-50-xx and 09-01-xx! What makes it more confusing is that the change didnt result in a new Debit card or cheque book. Using A&L instructions, all my most recently set up DD's failed due to sort codes and then they had the cheek to deny is was of their making! Even paying creditors by Debit card over the phone was bounced by A&L!! (Yes, plenty of £££ in the account!) Numerous fraught days spent trying to avoid charges so Santan-despair is going to be history to me soon. (If they'd only send my DD details on!!!!)0

I do the wages at work and received a letter from the bank saying that one of our employees sort codes had changed, but luckily they had redirected the payment.
I told our employee - he didn't know anything about it - he rang his bank and they advised that letters had been sent out advising of the change in sort code.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
I have not dared to change my sort code to the new one with my Direct debit firms or my BACs payments, eg pension.
So far the old one has continued to work OK (well thats the kiss of death!).
Do you think we will eventually be told the old one will stop working and the new one is to be used.0 -
I have been using a mix of both sort codes for paying in and DD's and had no problems at all, in fact one is set to the previous A&L sort code before they changed to the 72-50-xx and is still working. I have changed some DD's to the new sort code and the same DD reference has been used but a new DD has been set up by Orange so I wonder if that is based on new sort code info given to them.0

I found the letter and secure message saying something along the line of "...simple, transparent, nothing to worry about, nothing for you to do..." I found that A&L phone support was confusing and contradictory to what was actually happening in my account. I found that First Direct were happy to rid me of my pain.0

Oh no, does that mean utter chaos on pay day at the end of this month? I'm going to have nightmares now of my wages not being accepted by Santander and yet DD/SO demands still being processed (I need a fainting icon)

My pay went to 72-50-xx without a problem
Just had issues with Direct Debits :wall: 0 -
But was that after 'The Great Santander Sort Code Debacle of 2010'

Touch wood all my direct debits from the 1st October have gone out smoothly!0 -
This is a farce.
I've only just found out about this sort code change from a letter I've received from a company advising that they have received a new DD instruction. You would have thought that A+L/Santander would have informed their customers first?
This has also caused major issues with PayPal as they obviously never received the new DD instruction and removed my account instead, leaving me unable to refund an eBay buyer. Re-adding the account just caused it to be removed again a few days later and I had no idea why!
