Missed the Owls tickets...mother has been wanting to watch it since she saw the trailer at Sorcerers Apprentice preview in the summer - ah well maybe next time
I coudn't see a location for you0 -
I know the Newcastle screening was cancelled and had fingers crossed Liverpool wouldn't be as I had got up off my sick bed to go. Was very relieved when I found out it was going ahead and so glad i half killed myself to go to see it. What a fabulous film. I knew very little about the guy who set FB up beforehand other than what he has done recenty in the hope of off setting negative publicity this film will bring. Quite a bit of humour and if you like autobiographies and biographies then this is the film for you. In the first few minutes I wanted to cancel my FB account and I'm sure I wasn't the only one, he is an oddball to say the least.
I had a few words with one of the managers on my way out and was startled to hear that Liverpool also had problems with the digital key and they had their fingers crossed as they hit play and were extremely happy the film played. So was I after shelling out a tenner on a taxi!0 -
Social Network, tonight at Newcastle - Cancelled - reel didn't show up. Sent by courier this morning !!! Lots of disappointed peopleI did ask if we could see another film instead - No - Odeon said it wasn't their fault or their problem ! And even if the reel turned up late, it was too late, as they already had the screen usage planned for the evening. They said they'd put an old film on for us if we wanted a cinema experience "Back to the Future" was what was offered ! Didn't see anyone take him up on it though.
Was really looking forward to it !
This is exactly what started happening with a relatively new cinema in Aberdeen. They kept botching up and blaming someone else, and the upshot was that there has been less screenings as a result. They, too, said that they didn't have to let you see another film, and just wanted to wash their hands of any blame.
Just be on the look if it keeps on happening that your cinema might just 'disappear' as such from the list, or if anything might be on the list a lot less frequently than it has been previously. Just something to watch out for.Invented tradition: Couponology

Technically the cinema don't have to provide you with another film or give you tickets to see something at another time, that's in the t&cs but surely common sense tells you that it is in the cinemas best interest to keep the customers sweet.
My friend in Newcastle said they were offered the chance of seeing Back to the Future, I only saw the re-issue at the weekend so that wouldn't have suited me.0 -
What a fabulous film. ... Quite a bit of humour...
Well, this combined with the earlier third party review of 'quite boring' intrigues me how I will find the film. I will of course let you all know what I think after I see it on Sunday (the first in a prolonged dry spell).
It does seem that a lot of cinemas are having problems with the digital downloading or some courier problem.Invented tradition: Couponology

After those in power cut the timing of the first session to just 20 minutes (useful!) we watched SOME of Pixar shorts...to see where TS began. This week was our first full session and I decided to go retro with Bill & Ted - was meant to be Excellent adventure but the disc form Lovefilm didn't workso we watched my copy of Bogus Journey instead.
After a quiet start, and some very concerned looking 12 year olds, they finally got into it and giggled their way through. :T
Considering 'Halloween' for after half term...it will be later than Halloween but who cares?!?!? :rotfl:
Thanks again for all your advice I have a whole year of films to fill so I'm sure I'll get through them all
Ooh! That was me
Hope it goes ahead and it's not too   for them

I had to say that I chuckled at your justification of how the horror/violence was merely implied. True, but as you point out, it won't stop the nightmares.Invented tradition: Couponology

In all honesty, they are the films that scare me most. Imaginations can be evil0 -

This is the precise reason why I don't read a review of film before going to see it. It is only one persons opinion and as we are all different, with different tastes we will like different films. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong, we are just different but brilliant all the same:T
The problems with the digital keys can be resolved by the bigwigs in the USA but it takes time and as this is only a preview I don't suppose the managers can be bothered. Don't understand the attitude mind, because they are being paid for the hire of the room. So if it happens a lot I can well understand a cinema being taken off the list, which is a crying shame for the poor people who can and want to use that cinema.0
