So in effect despite having tickets, there was no film showing.Did you go to the Box Office with the printout? That reponse sounds like something the Box Office staff would say.
When you go to a preview you need to take the printout to the people who take the tickets. They take the printout, issue any goodies like 3D glasses or popcorn etc and tell you the number of the screen it is showing on. Sometimes, you wil get a member of staff who isn't aware what to do with a preview printout, in that case, you are best to ask to speak to a team leader or the projectionist.
Cardiff are fairly regular on the preview circuit so there should be cinema staff who know how it works. I have a friend who goes to previews in Cardiff reguarly.cardiff2007 wrote: »I go to the Cardiff ones every other week the cinema box offices are rarely ever told about the free screenings they are arranged as a seperate thing thats the great thing about these screenings you don't have to faff around in the box office saying that the other week we went to cineworld to see the Katherine heigl film and were the first ones there and they had to ring around for that one to see which cinema it was being held in
We also turned up for this screening, the information I was given is that ShowFilmFirst had not actually arranged anything with Cineworld at all, at least that Cineworld Cardiff had not been informed and the projectionists didn't have the film lined up. Turns out the first anyone knew about it was when someone had turned up before us.
However Curlylocks, after the member of staff gave me this information they did say that if we came back with the printout that they would let us in to Social Network next week for free.
I would guess that there had been a complete breakdown in communication somewhere along the line (my assumption would be it would be somewhere in Cineworld) but at least they have rectified the mistake. We are going to make sure before we go though so we don't have another wasted trip!!0 -

I couldn't begin to tell you. There were some who obviously loved it but not me. The daft thing is that I knew it wasn't my cup of tea but I went thinking I might be proved wrong, I wasn't :sad:0 -

The clue was in my question. Why tell ME my own advice? I wasn't asking. Next time quote the person who is asking the question rather than someone who knows very well how the preview system works!0 -

Re your PM stating that my post was pointless because the original post stated that Psycho started at 9am, my post says 9.00am doors open, film starts at 9.30am.
I received a separate email confirming the 9.30am start this morning.
That extra half hour in bed on a Sunday morning is very important to us lazy Londoners.;)“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

It causes confusion if you quote the wrong post when in actual fact you are answering a totally different post.:)
And for the record, the same thing happened on Monday 11th.0
