We KNOW it's first come, first served, so we have to make the effort to get there early, or accept that we might have to fork out some cash and pay to see a different film instead if we're deawd set on the cinema.
Its not just a few at the moment though at the screening of Gnomeo & Juliet I went to on Sunday the screen could of been filled twice, there is no need to issue so many extra tickets. There were so many sad, disappointed children.
I arrived 30 mins early to find the screen almost full.:hello:0 -

The guy kept on telling, go back to ShowFilmFirst and blame them, its not the cinema's fault!!
Argh!!
A few were turned away at Cambridge too. Serves them right mostly for getting there so late. I have lost count of the number of times people turn up after the film has started annoying everyone else who got there in plenty of time.0 -
I agree it's not the cinema's fault, but SFF shouldn't allocate so many extra tickets. I know that a lot of people don't show up, but seeing how many people were turned away + those who actually didn't show up, they must have allocated twice as many tickets as available seats.
Oh well - the night wasn't wasted - managed to see the Million Dollar Quartet musical on opening night, which was awesome :T0 -
blacksky200 wrote: »Totally agree... But SFF is definitely at fault here, as releasing more tickets than spaces, is always going to make some people "late", regardless of how early they are..
Hope its a simple error on SFF's part, and doesn’t happen again.
It wont, though - they release more tickets because if, say, they have a screen with 300 seats, and they only release 300 tickets, only 200 turn up. If they release 400, there's more chance of the screening being as near to full as possible, which is what they want.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

I think in the case of weekend family films, it's different on the whole - they are usually full to bursting. HOWEVER - if I go to these and take kids, I always tell them "we might not get in" and have a back up plan.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
more than half the time its because people give photocopies to their friends/family, I have seen this on a regular basis at all the screenings I go too.0

No, it's two separate previews on the same day - Chalet Girl is at 10.30am and No Strings Attached is at 11am.
Derby, Glasgow, Cardiff, Greenwich, Leeds/Bradford, Norwich and Sheffield Odeons are all showing both.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is confusion at the cinemas...0 -
Oh I thought it was for the same film0

The post that you are referring to is for the movie West is West, not Inside Job. That's the reason your password is not working.
Does anyone know the password for Inside Job on Telegraph?0
