Just back from this film, which I thought was really good. Some brilliant moments in it, but prepare yourself for the end witha hanky. I didn't and consequently have a wet top. Say mo more.

REALLY?? I thought it was awful! Really long and jumbled. Thought the ending was quite sweet but then again, I was just longing for it TO end. LOL

One of the worst I have seen on a freebie, only to be beaten by Funny People

Each to their own! I guess it would be boring if we all liked the same films! I accept that it was long, but everyone in my audience seemed to enjoy it, by the buzz afterwards.
Think that the lead actor (name escapes me) won a Golden Globe and that doesnot happen in a generally poor film.

Hello, does anybody know if the Telegraph free film screenings are ever made available to non-subscribers?

    Thanks,
    Lurleene.

    Paul Giamatti...yes he did.

I thought it was pretty good too.

    Thanks for the info.

It's weird but no-one I know had even heard of the film. I did wonder about seeing it but I am so glad that I did. That's what I love about these free films (when they come to Exeter): you can see a wider variety than you'd ever experience normally!

Does anyone else have tickets for "The Fighter" in Derby on 27th Jan?

Is it at Showcase on Osmaston Road or Showcase Cinema de Lux in the Westfield Centre?

The listing when I got the tickets from momentum screenings showed the Cinema del Lux, but the email shows the normal Showcase on Osmaston Park Road DE1 2PQ!!

I don't want to be turning up at the wrong cinema!!

    Cheers!

Momentum finally emailed me back about this, and confirmed that it's at the De Lux in the Westfield.

I was literally in the process of ringing the cinema (a long drawn-out process as you have to go through the standard 'voice recognition' line) when I received the email, and the Showcase people knew nothing whatsoever about it! They asked if I'd email them the ticket, which I did. They then rang me back to confirm is was on there, but had apparently only just found out...
